And so it lives on… Recognised as one of 40 greatest ads of the last 40 years. Still packing a punch.
Lürzer's Archive x Good Ads Matter Does belting up make you any less of a man? Think again, it might save your life. Over the years, NZ Transport Agency has come to be known for commanding and memorable road safety ads. This campaign, titled ‘Belted Survivors’ is no exception to this reputation. With an aim to redefine the complicated relationship between fragile ego and a simple, life-saving strap, the organisation came up with a campaign as candid and bold as ever. When an unfortunate study revealed that ninety New Zelanders die annually in road accidents simply because of not wearing seat belts, the agency teamed up with Vice to track down 10 survivors who owed their lives to their seat belts. To accentuate further on its importance, their wounds were recreated and highlighted with makeup and CGI, drawing a gutting and lasting portrait, ingraining a sense of conscious responsibility in us. • Lürzer's Archive commemorates a momentous milestone by curating the 40 greatest ads of the past 40 years. In collaboration with Good Ads Matter, we are meticulously selecting from our illustrious archive. Join us in this celebration of creativity and influence.
