Alice
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
This project has been developed in one week with the purpose of having a level with a start and an end. The main inspiration has been obviously Alice in wonderland (1951).
Thing I've learned with this demo:
- The player controls a character in third person and can walk, run, crouch, climb walls and push objects. The speed of the character produces noise that a creature use to move towards the point that the noise were made.
- I tried to develop some procedural animation for the creature using the famous "Fast IK" asset. It has not the level of polish I would like, but for a first iteration gets the job done.
- With regards the assets, this time my productivity with Blender was very good and got around 20-30 assets quickly. I'm very stisfied with the look of the scene and all it took was some linear fog, a particle system with fog and a particle system with suspended particles. The sound assets are taken from Opengameart and the animations from Mixamo.
Note: the climbing is buggy, sometimes the animation works and other times doesn't. I'll try to fix it in a future release.
