The New York Times is an influential international newspaper published in New York City, New York. Nicknamed "The Old Gray Lady" or The Times, this newspaper was founded in 1851 by Henry J. Raymond and George Jones as a sober alternative to the tabloids that dominated the New York journalism of the time. Adolph Ochs acquired the Times in the 1890s and under his guidance the newspaper achieved an international scope, circulation, and reputation. Owned by The New York Times Company.
