Retro Commander
Retro Commander is a post-apocalyptic real-time strategy wargame (RTS). Take command and fight it out in a world where a cataclysmic timeline has transpired on Mother Earth. Wage wars solo, against the AI, or take on your gaming comrades and friends in cross-platform multiplayer matches. Form teams and clans and fight co-op style with the AI and other players for ultimate victory.
As opposed to other real-time strategy game, Retro Commander tries to focus on both, a fun single player and a thrilling multiplayer experience. The game strives to be easy to learn with a modern user interface. Single player comes with skirmish matches against the AI as well as a comic-based story campaign. Multiplayer can be played cross-platform and includes a ranking and rating system.

hey when are you going to add new buildings
About Nov./Dec. this year, we'll release an alien faction :)
hey may I ask what is the commander in the alien faction going to look like
They have a lizard-like look.
will the alien faction have any air units
Yes, they'll have air units.
I wish we could save GameMaps/Games if they are private, so we can continue playing from when we left off, say, from two days/weeks ago. I mean for non-story games. I also can't seem to find the map editor.
You can do that for the downloadable version if I understand your comment correctly.
Also, when you fire it up, you have to do a download. When the download is done, you don't have to do it again, right?
Yes, that's correct. The downloaded version downloads patches automatically when you are connected to the internet. You do not need to manually download latest versions.
Great game, except I don't know how to select things, or even do anything while the symbol 2 down from the hammer on the left has the yellow border. I cannot select buildings, units, or literally anything.
I tried to click the symbol above it but it doesn't do anything. How do I fix this?
(I'm playing the web version btw, it also thinks I am on a phone or something when I'm on my Chromebook.)
I found it out, Im alt tabbing and its keeping the alt key held down, its all fine thats a common thing, amazing game btw. (this is my fourth edit)
Great it's solved! :-D
hey the game will not make the map
What do you mean?
me and my brother where go play with each other on multplayer
You got an error message or something?
hey when are you going to add a new building
The game is great. Some serious effort has been put in to it. However I am struggling with the camera movement. It feels very janky and seems to stutter. I tried capping the FPS and tweaked some of the graphical options but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?
Not sure? Generally, I haven't noticed any stutters at all. Do you have a very old computer?
No, it's a modern computer, Windows 11, 32 RAM, NIVIDA GeForce RTX 3080, Intel i9-9900K CPU. It can run Cyberpunk at 60fps at ultra graphic settings so it's nothing to do with my computer.
best rts game i found
im having a instillation bug, i downloaded it (windows version), opened the setup, installed it but i cant find the game. though i like the look of it.
edit: im an idiot but false alarm, i just reinstalled it and it fixed it. cant wait to play it! thats why im not going to wait.
I'm glad it's solved!
I spent a lot of time playing this game and really enjoyed it! A few things that bugged me are the AI buddy taking building space right where you start, since I was a complete noob I didn't expect my AI buddy to just put blueprints everywhere before I could decide how I wanted to build my base, the audio completely disappears when your device goes into sleep mode with the game running, and the miners refine the resources at your allies refinery so there was a point about a hour or two into a save where i just could build anything because i had 2 materials left and the miners kept mining ores and refining them at my ally's refinery instead of my own.
Edit: I love the game and can't wait to see what it is like when it comes out.
Thanks for the feedback! The AI outputs a map ping before it starts building a base. You could just build your base at a different location. That said, I still need to do some tweaking. The green AI should actually build on the bottom/left.
re-Mining: that generally shouldn't happen unless your ore refinery is full? Maybe your ore refinery was full and the miners went to the ally's base instead? Was your refinery powered properly?
re-Audio: not sure about that? Can you post your log output?
