Another milestone reached this week with the launching of NB 966 for Edda Wind at Vard Shipyards Romania - Braila. 💥 The launching of the Commissioning Service Operation Vessel happened 9 days earlier than the initial plan. The vessel of VARD 4 25 design is the second of four vessels we are delivering to Edda Wind. Did you know that: 👉 The new VARD 4 25 design is developed to meet Edda Wind’s high focus on flexibility, operability, efficient logistics and environmental-friendly solutions. 👉 The vessel is designed with VARD’s new hull form for optimized seakeeping abilities and low fuel consumption. 👉 The series of vessels will be prepared for green fuels and energy carriers and will have the flexibility to adapt to various types of fuels in the future. 👉 The CSOVs will be equipped with the latest technology for energy efficient HVAC, power generation and propellers. Mega news! 💥 We signed an agreement with Carnival Corporation & plc for the design, engineering and construction of three new mega-ships for the Carnival Cruise Line brand, the largest ever built by Fincantieri and an Italian shipyard. The order is for a new class of liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered vessels, which will be approximately 230,000 gross tonnes, scheduled for delivery in 2029, 2031 and 2033. Through advanced energy efficiency, waste management and emission reduction technologies, these new vessels will play a significant role in reducing the environmental footprint. See a video of the hybrid power cable lay and construction vessel we have designed and are constructing for Toyo Construction Co.,ltd. wa 🌊 The hybrid power cable lay, and construction vessel will be of VARD 9 15 design, a design especially developed for the need of the customer to cater for the growing Japanese offshore windfarm market, as well as to operate worldwide. It will have an optimal hull design to suit the natural and construction conditions in Japan, allowing it to be used in both shallow waters and deep waters for floating offshore wind power generation and DC power transmission projects. She will be able to carry out construction work at a high rate of operation in a wide range of ocean areas. The hull is built at Vard Shipyards Romania in Tulcea and will be outfitted and delivered from one of VARD’s shipyards in Norway in Q2 2026. We are proud to share that VARD has delivered new build 950 to Norwind Offshore 4 weeks ahead of schedule. 💥 The vessel is of VARD 4 19 design and is a highly versatile platform for sustainable offshore windfarm support operations, focusing on onboard logistics, security, comfort, and superior operability. 🔔 We are happy to announce that we have secured a contract on a CSOV (Commissioning Service Operation Vessel) for Rem Offshore . This is the third CSOV VARD delivers to Rem Offshore. The first two, REM Power and REM Wind, were delivered in 2023 and 2024 respectively. The CSOV is tailored to provide services during the construction, operation, and maintenance of offshore wind farms worldwide. The VARD 4 19 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, is a highly versatile platform for all support operations for offshore wind farms, focusing on onboard logistics, safety, comfort, and superior functionality. The CSOV is 85 x 19.5 m with cabins for up to 120 people, including 93 wind turbine technicians and a crew of up to 27 people. The cable layer is especially designed for advanced subsea operations and features deep water installation capabilities for depths of more than 3,000 meters and the highest cable loading capacity in the market. She is developed to perform complex installation operations, supported by a variety of burial systems, including heavy-duty ploughs, and state-of-the-art positioning and seakeeping systems, coupled with a reduced environmental footprint. Looking back to the naming ceremony for NB 912, KV Hopen at Vard Langsten in Norway. With the naming ceremony of the third vessel in the Jan Mayen class, one of Norway's largest maritime acquisitions ever is about to be completed. 🌊 The vessel will contribute to strengthening the Coast Guard's preparedness, capability, and endurance along the coast and throughout Norway's maritime area of interest. - This is a milestone for Norway as a maritime nation.
