This software-as-a-service is a fleet management suite that empowers operators to improve efficiency and increase revenue. Urban Sharing’s software features dynamic tools for managing and optimizing fleet operations, including apps and an admin interface to track and plan vehicle rebalancing, maintenance, and repairs. The platform supports both physical and virtual parking, as well as various types of micromobility including bikes, scooters, mopeds, and small electric vehicles. The Urban Sharing platform can be integrated into existing mobility infrastructure, public transportation systems, and mobility-as-a-service platforms. The service also provides app and web interfaces for riders. The robust platform is built on Google Cloud and was designed with high availability, performance, and scalability in mind. Urban Sharing will launch Version 2.0 of its new task-based fleet optimisation platform next month to support shared micromobility operators with on-street operations. Whether it is rebalancing, battery charging or maintenance tasks, the ‘Urban Crew’ app and Control Center are built for suggesting the best possible operational solutions based on historical and real-time data. “Shared micromobility operators face the daunting task of juggling numerous operational challenges,” Urban Sharing’s Chief Revenue Officer Tom Nutley told Zag Daily. “Urban Crew offers a comprehensive solution with a unified interface, leveraging key data points, local operator knowledge, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to enable field teams and operations managers to efficiently oversee, manage, and automate their tasks. This ensures SLAs are met, resources are optimised, and users have access to functional vehicles precisely when and where they need them.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/eMxQcKHd

Yesterday our CRO Tom Nutley had the opportunity to present our work on MaaS at the MOVE21: Zero Emission 21st Century Oslo Peer Learning Visit. Some of the things we learned were: 🏙 Cities cannot fear failure. Rune Gjøs, Head of Mobility Department for Oslo kommune explained that cities cannot predict what is to come tomorrow, not just when it comes to vehicle innovations, but also climate change. Because of this, cities need to embrace the unknown and not fear the possibility of failure. 😱 Automotive companies are scared. Dan Piatkowski, Associate Professor at OsloMet – Oslo Metropolitan University shared his work on his upcoming book “Bicycle City”, where he discussed the pivotal role the e-bike has been, and will play in shaping the cities of tomorrow. When automotive companies start producing and marketing e-bikes the same way they do cars, this transition to micromobility is clear. 🔌 Electrification is not always the best option. Oda shared their experience disrupting the grocery delivery industry. Changing the way orders are picked and delivered using joint distribution centres. Unfortunately, electrifying their fleet of delivery vehicles simply isn’t worthwhile. Charging of electric vehicles remains the biggest challenge, which we know all too well in the shared micromobility industry. Find more information about our involvement in Move21 in the comments below 👇 MOVE21 may have been a closed event, but Tom Nutley will also be sharing his insights into optimisation of #multimodal transport for cost 💲, speed 💨 & #sustainability ♻️ at his session on Tuesday 22nd April at Mobility Live Middle East & Saudi Attending the event? This surge in interest to view, book and pay for Oslo’s bike share system in Oslo’s native MaaS application comes after Urban Sharing launched its unique MaaS API in partnership with the City of Oslo as part of the MOVE21 Project. The pilot, which launched in October, lets customers hire a bike from Oslo Bysykkel on the same platform they use to book public transport: the official Ruter app.   Not only can Urban Sharing and Ruter As boast 10,000 new interested users, the pilot also launched in Norway’s off season when temperatures reached as low as -15 degrees Celsius. As summer is approaching, Urban sharing and Ruter is looking forward to reaching even more customers.   The API that is now publicly available for the world to use excludes Personally Identifiable Information and allows the micromobility operator to maintain the customer journey, from visuals and subscription options, to customer service which means cities can more easily integrate micromobility and encourage multi-modal uptake without cannibalising existing applications. What a week at Intertraffic Amsterdam! Our Partnerships Manager Josée Sabourin attended. Here are some of her takeaways: 🚲 Human-centered mobility rising in the ranks. There is a growing conversation on how to improve the livability of our urban areas. Even in places that prioritize cars, such as Intertraffic, the conversation often leads to the need for more micromobility, more walkability, and a general shift away from the dominance of cars. But... 💰The car lobby is strong. Since the beginning of the automobile, cities and planners have embraced the need for new infrastructure with each innovation of the car. Making roads wider, speed limits higher, and parking requirements larger. Why is it that bikes and scooters aren't afforded the same blind consideration? Maybe it's because... 😿Cities are licking their wounds Cities are still feeling the burn from scooters being dumped on sidewalks overnight in 2018. Without any type of regulation, it was a wild summer for shared micromobility, with many cities banning shared e-scooters altogether in an attempt to save face with angry voters (👋 Paris). Are you interested in more of these takeaways? Josée Sabourin and Tom Nutley will be attending MOVE21: Zero Emission 21st Century in Oslo this week. Stay tuned for our recap.
