Disembarking Normand Navigator - Day 5 "It has been an absolute pleasure to be onboard this week and spend time with the crew, partners and clients. My experience is that the moment you enter a ship you can immediately recognize a well driven vessel. It is clean, tidy, well-maintained and you are warmly welcomed onboard. This is the case on Normand Navigator. I have made a few reflections during the week, and one of them is that we must never forget how important everyone onboard is for the final result. It is about the crew on bridge, engine and deck, but it is also about the catering crew who are essential for the working environment onboard and the trainees/cadets, that with their high motivation, learn from the more experienced sailors.  It is about mutual respect between nationalities, and it is about making one-team between the vessel crew, clients and various contractors that always are a part of a subsea project. Thank you Captain Bjørn Brun for having me onboard this week. I have been very well taken care of and will come back to my onshore-based office with new ideas and full of inspiration.”    - Lars Peder Solstad In the picture: Peter Jhon Barrido, Emecel Franco, Eldorado Villaruz and Lars Peder Solstad.

Sailing with Normand Navigator Day 4 Regardless of technical solutions or alternative fuels, operational measures will have a significant and immediate effect on the vessel’s fuel consumption and thereby emissions. Operational measures are what Solstad Green Operations is all about, and it works! While onboard and sailing along the Norwegian coast, CEO Lars Peder Solstad, Captain Bjorn Brun, and Chief Engineer Stian Grasdal discussed the environmental measures they have implemented onboard over a cup of coffee.   Since January 2024, Normand Navigator has already completed 167 SGOs, which are operational initiatives to reduce fuel consumption and air emissions, and they have successfully saved 175 tons of fuel year to date. Solstad Green Operations are being done onboard all of our vessels. Every day, all year around, and the results of the crew's efforts are impressive. Since Solstad Green Operations was started in 2009, the fuel consumption has been reduced with over 350 000 tons. It is common sense and everyone wins – specially the environment.

Sailing with Normand Navigator Day 3 From ROV systems to survey, project manning and tooling, Solstad Services has grown to offer a comprehensive scope of work to our clients. In June, Normand Navigator successfully mobilized two new ROVs systems built by Kystdesign. The ROVs are owned by Omega Subsea Robotics – a joint venture between Solstad and Omega Subsea, and demonstrate the significant investments the company has done in the service segment. Normand Navigator is the fourth vessel in our fleet equipped with our own ROVs and looking ahead we plan to mobilize four more systems by the end of 2024. "Our collaboration with Solstad and the establishment of the joint venture, Omega Subsea Robotics, have been important steps toward continuous growth for Omega Subsea. This partnership reflects our dedication to providing integrated subsea services and state-of-the-art ROV equipment to the global market." Trond Berge, General Manager at Omega Subsea. The ROVs are designed to have the possibility of also being operated remotely from our joint venture Remota through its Remote Operating Center (ROC). While onboard, Lars Peder Solstad has the chance to take a closer look at the new systems and discuss the upcoming project with the crew and operators, where Solstad Services will also provide project support and survey.

Sailing with Normand Navigator Day 2 CEO Lars Peder Solstad is onboard Normand Navigator, currently on contract with Ocean Installer (OI). The vessel is now sailing towards the Barents Sea to work on the Johan Castberg project. In Solstad, we take pride in our long-standing relationships with clients. Ocean Installer is no exception and has been a valued partner since they were established in 2011. Over the years several of our vessels have worked with OI worldwide, including recent mooring projects in West Africa involving 5 of our AHTS vessels on a project in Congo, and the Normand Prosper that just returned from a project in Mauritania. Normand Vision is today celebrating her 10 years anniversary. Over the past decade she has been on contract with Ocean Installer, symbolizing the strong and long lasting cooperation between the companies. “A good relationship with our clients is key to our business success and we truly value the cooperation we have with Ocean Installer. Our journey together has been marked with steady progress and reliable operations and we look forward to continuing our collaboration.” Lars Peder Solstad, CEO at Solstad. “I'm very proud and thankful for the partnership we’ve had with Solstad over the past decade. We deeply value the strong collaboration and track record we have established together onboard Normand Vision and the many other Solstad vessels we utilize for our projects. We look forward to continuing this strong partnership.” Kevin Murphy, CEO at Ocean Installer.

Sailing with Normand Navigator Day 1 CEO, Lars Peder Solstad, has temporarily relocated his office from our headquarter in Skudeneshavn to the vessel Normand Navigator. He will follow the vessel’s northbound voyage towards the Barents Sea. This move is not just a change of scenery; it's a return to roots as Lars Peder worked onboard several of our vessels in his early days in the Company. Onboard, Lars Peder has the pleasure of meeting several of our colleagues, including the vessel cadets and trainees. At Solstad, young professionals have the opportunity to work and learn from their experienced colleagues, both in their relevant field but also in Solstad’s safety culture through our program Solstad Incident Free Operations (SIFO). During the soon to be 60 years of history of the Company, and since the maritime training program started in the 90s, more than 500 cadets and trainees have sailed on our vessels. Many of these are still in Solstad as Captains, Chief Engineers, and other various positions offshore and onshore. Stay tuned and follow the journey 🚢
