I går gjennomførte vi vår første test på skroget, og vi føler oss virkelig privilegerte som får utføre disse testene på Hestmanden ⚓ Dette skipet, som en gang ble brukt til den risikofylte konvoifarten, har en bemerkelsesverdig historie. Gjennom to verdenskriger klarte det å navigere seg gjennom farvann fylt med fiendtlige trusler og fikk rykte på seg som et uvanlig heldig skip🏅 Målet med gårsdagens test var å perfeksjonere manøvreringen av roboten før vi kobler til lasersystemet. I vårt arbeid møter vi alltid ekstra utfordringer på grunn av at vi opererer under vann, og dette ble tydelig da en av ledningene kortsluttet. Men som med alle utfordringer, tar vi det som en lærdom og går videre 🌊 Det er nettopp slike hendelser som gjør testingen så verdifull. Det gir oss muligheten til å identifisere og løse potensielle problemer før vi går videre til neste fase. Så selv om gårsdagens test ikke gikk helt som planlagt, gir det oss verdifull innsikt som vil bidra til å sikre at systemet vårt fungerer optimalt. Så i dag står vi klare til å prøve igjen, motivert av vårt mål om å bidra til å redusere klimagassutslipp og spreding av invasive arter 🐟 - Yesterday, we conducted our first test on the hull, and we feel truly privileged to perform these tests on the Hestmanden. Once used for perilous convoy voyages, this ship has a remarkable history. It managed to navigate waters filled with hostile threats throughout two world wars and gained a reputation as an unusually fortunate vessel. Yesterday's test aimed to perfect the robot's manoeuvring before connecting to the laser system. In our work, we always face additional challenges due to operating underwater, which became evident when one of the wires short-circuited. However, as with all challenges, we take it as a learning experience and move forward. It is precisely such events that make testing so valuable. It allows us to identify and resolve potential issues before moving on to the next phase. So, even though yesterday's test didn't go entirely as planned, it gives us valuable insight that will help ensure our system operates optimally. Today, we stand ready to try again, motivated by our goal to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the spread of invasive species. I Norsjór gjør vi mye rart og det er mange prosesser som skal til for å skape resultater. Vi er vel blant få som har vår egen begroing farm, hvor vi dyrker frem begroing som vi kan teste på. Kompetansen bak alle prosessene har vi ervervet gjennom samarbeid og mye testing og feiling. Vi arbeider ut i fra hypoteser som aldri har vært testet før og da må man av og til gønne på i blinde. Det skaper igjen en unik kompetanse kun vi i Norsjór besitter. Nå skal vi gå fra forskning, utvikling og testing til kommersialisering. Det blir en spennende reise. Our first pool party is a wrap! We achieved good results, though some adjustments to the steering are necessary. Nevertheless, we're on track for propeller testing in two weeks.
