N2 Applied was invited to present our solutions when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Innovation Norway hosting a visit from the African Development Bank in Oslo. Many interesting companies participated, so it was a great opportunity to exchange ideas. 

N2 Applied’s employees have a diverse range of backgrounds and skills. Chris Taylor is our Chief Agronomist UK and in the podcast “Tales of a Nuffield Scholar” he tells his story: he had no farming experience before taking on a milking job as a youngster and then got hooked on farming and the wider industry. Chris joined N2 Applied in 2023 to contribute putting the UK livestock sector on the road towards its Net Zero goals and reducing its environmental impact through improved nutrient management and reduced emissions. We are proud that co-founder of N2 Applied, Rune Ingels, is invited to hold two speeches at The Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, this week. The objective of the Summit is to bring together all relevant stakeholders to highlight the crucial role of fertiliser and soil health in stimulating sustainable pro-poor productivity growth in African agriculture. It is expected that a 10-year Action Plan will be endorsed.The Action Plan includes concrete recommendations for steps to be taken by African leaders and stakeholders over the next 10 years. Rune highlighted how the N2 technology is a suitable solution to these challenges.

For us in N2 Applied it is really inspiring to hear Karl-Ludwig Kotthoff sharing his motivation and expectations for installing the GEA ProManure 2950 Manure Enricher at the dairy farm in Meschede, Germany. -Manure makes an important contribution to sustainable agriculture. With the GEA system we can now produce fertilizer on site only using manure, air and electricity, says Karl-Ludwig. 

There are multiple challenges we need to deal with when going from a linear agriculture economy to circular bioeconomy, and several topics were highlighted during the webinar “Paving the way to circular bioeconomy”. N2 Applied was one of the speakers with the theme “Nitrogen enrichment of fertilisers”. - Empowering farmers to produce low emission fertiliser on the farm means that you are combining self-sufficiency with reduced GHG, air- and water pollution. Solutions like this are important to transform farming to be more circular, says Trond Lund, Head of Business Development at N2 Applied.
