Diversity is key – for innovation, for profitability and for quality decision-making. Today we celebrate it twice: Yesterday was the International Women in Engineering Day and we, the women in Moss Maritime, gathered for lunch and a talk about what strengths and qualities women typically bring into the workplace and how to capitalize on that. This is also the last and main week of Oslo Pride, which is Norway's largest celebration of queer love and diversity, focusing on equal rights and human dignity. #diversity #INWED24 #LOVE #OsloPride #mossmaritime

Om oss
Moss Maritime provides leading technology and expertise within design and engineering services to the offshore energy sector as well as other ocean-based sectors. Some of the largest and most advanced semi-submersible drilling platforms are designed & engineered by Moss Maritime, and the company has a special position in the LNG industry, being the designer of the Moss LNG carrier. Moss Maritime continues to specialize in frontier and technology advanced projects. We provide a wide variety of design solutions for innovative floater designs for the energy industry in general, with focus on energy carriers such as LNG and hydrogen, as well as for the renewable energy sector. We also engage in non-energy markets with the need of floater competence such as aquaculture, and large coastal structures and infrastructure.

Moss Maritime is capitalizing on the extensive experience in floating offshore installations and semi-submersible technologies to provide our expertise within design and engineering of floating offshore structures: We are thrilled to have led the development of the Aqualoop Big Dipper concept for open ocean fish farming. After two years of pre-feed study, we completed a successful design validation and model test campaign in the SINTEF Ocean model basin last week. The design evolution of subsea fish farming is primarily focused on enhancing biosecurity, fish welfare and optimizing barrier structures. Submerging the fish cages reduces environmental impact on the units and minimizes the risk of lice infestations. Additionally, subsea farming enables better regulation of temperature and sea conditions within the cages. Sustainable design principles are essential, requiring robust barriers to prevent fish escapes and reduce emissions. The model test campaign confirmed the hydrodynamic performance of the design without any unexpected results compared to our numerical analysis. Demonstrating that fully offshore sea farming is feasible and that the Big Dipper concept provides a solution for harsh environments with multiple challenges. #offshoreseafarming #modeltesting #hydrodynamics

Moss Maritime la ut dette på nytt
We are bringing our experience and expertise in complex offshore oil & gas structures to service ocean-based aquaculture, a growing industry aiming to meet the increased demand for healthy and climate-friendly food resources. Our subsidiary Moss Maritime is contributing to developing a new sustainable open ocean fish farming concept for Aqualoop. The team has been conducting engineering services from feasibility studies to the current design validation and model test campaign. The new solution will focus on Atlantic Salmon but can be applied to other fish in any ocean temperature zone and weather conditions. #Saipem #EngineeringForASustainableFuture #Sustainability #MossMaritime #Aquaculture

This week Moss Maritime attended Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP)’s event ‘’LNG and energy value chain’’. Once again we were recalled of the important role of natural gas in the energy transition and the current increasing volumes of LNG and floating regas solutions. FSRUs are faster, less costly and more flexible gas infrastructures compared to onshore solutions and Thormod Andersen, Gas Process Technology department manager in Moss Maritime, presented the extensive portfolio of FSRU conversion and upgrade projects that Moss Maritime has contributed to, starting from 2008 and until today. #LNG #FSRU #energy_transition

Moss Maritime continues to contribute in developing solutions for the ocean-based aquaculture industry. Together with our Client Viewpoint Seafood AS, we have successfully finished the design and engineering work of yet another fish farming solution for exposed offshore conditions. This is an important step and yet another achievement to strengthen our position in a new market for Moss Maritime. #aquaculture #fishfarming

Water is the very foundation for the floating nature of Moss Maritime's business. Admittedly, we mainly interact with salt water, but nevertheless we annually mark World Water Day at our office. This year’s theme of “Water for Peace” makes us contemplate the important role water plays in the world. Did you for instance know that more than 3 billion people worldwide depend on water that crosses national boarders? #WWD #mossmaritime

DNV has collaborated with Moss Maritime, a leading offshore design and engineering services provider, to accelerate the deployment of floating solar technology in harsh environmental conditions. DNV has handed over a Statement of Conformity to Moss Maritime for their design brief outlining the design methodology for their concept called XolarSurf. This marks a significant milestone in the development of their technology. The recognition helps pave the way for further developments for floating solar in exposed waters and the opportunity of providing clean energy close to shore without the use of area on land. The independent confirmation of their design brief helps Moss Maritime reduce risks as well as attract the investments needed for further advancing their floating solar technology. "We aim to have a prototype in the water by June. DNV's Statement of Conformity is a recognition and a stamp of quality that gives us a good basis for further work," says Alexander Thøgersen, Vice President of Engineering at Moss Maritime. "Compared to floating wind turbines, floating solar power technology is simpler, engineering costs are lower, and structures are easier to build. Floating solar power is also well suited for mass production, which will have a positive impact on price and deployment", says Thøgersen. https://lnkd.in/eC-acr8d

Moss Maritime would like to congratulate our long-term clients Golar LNG and Seatrium for the successful delivery of Gimi FLNG from Seatrium’s shipyard in Singapore. Moss Maritime has been an engineering subcontractor to Seatrium for this project, which adds to the list of a total of 10 conversion projects where Seatrium and Moss have, either in partnership or alongside each other, converted LNG carriers to FSRUs/FLNGs/FSU. This collaboration goes back to 2006 and showcases how the combined strengths of unique maritime LNG engineering skill and world class conversion execution capability offers competitive solutions to the LNG industry. Moss Maritime is grateful for the trust that Seatrium has had in the Moss engineering capability in this project, and our specialist LNG competence was chosen for engineering the integration between the topside and the cargo system, as well as for the extension of the hull structure. Gimi FLNG will later this year commence operation – we wish Golar LNG all the best for a successful start-up! #LNG #FLNG #FSRU #FSU
