We had an awareness session focusing on supporting helpers working with boys and men exposed to sexual violence. A huge thank you goes out to Olga Acharadze the Association Norsk-ukrainsk hjelpeorganisasjon for inviting us. Special gratitude goes to Senior psychiatrist Doris Drews who generously shared her experience and knowledge. We are also grateful to Svitlana Bulkina and Kateryna Rodynenko for their translation skills. Heartfelt appreciation also goes to all the participants who traveled from different parts of Norway firstly to receive their certificates from VID and in addition to joining us and share their experiences. We're looking forward to continued cooperation. This training was part of a broader initiative by Mental Health and Human Rights Info in Oslo. It aimed to provide face-to-face certification training for Ukrainian psychologists and specialists working with #ukrainiansinnorway. The focus was on boys and men exposed to #sexualviolence in the context of war, which is especially important for the rebuilding of Ukraine. Our goal is to equip #ukrainian professionals with the skills needed to support and restore the mental health of their nation.

The ongoing tragedies in #Palestine, #Sudan, #Yemen, and #Syria —marked by genocide, displacement, apartheid, ecocide, and violence — are affecting thousands of lives, particularly those of children and women. The lives and well-being of these individuals are under constant threat and destruction. The suffering endured by the people in these countries is immeasurable and grows more intense each day. Despite these extreme circumstances, we remain steadfast in our support for the affected populations, recognising the critical importance of mental health and psychosocial support. We firmly believe that peace and justice will ultimately prevail. 📌 Due to this, we have put together relevant resources and ideas in Arabic that may be useful in severe times of stress and unrest. 🤝 Please share this information with your colleagues, friends and family and send us your comments and recommendations on other useful resources to the following email: [email protected] #stopthegenocide #mentalhealthforall #psychologicalfirstaid

Together with Norsk-ukrainsk hjelpeorganisasjon and representatives from various institutions working with Ukrainians in Norway, we met to assess what the different participants were doing to improve the situation of Ukrainian refugees in Norway, particularly concerning mental health. Additionally, we discussed how Ukrainian psychologists already in Norway could contribute to and relieve Norwegian health services while fulfilling their professional roles. We are excited to see what can come from this collaboration. As psychologists and mental health experts, we recognize our historical, social, and moral responsibility to advocate against injustice and suffering. Our profession places us in a unique position to be powerful voices within our communities, and it is our duty to humanity to use this influence. We urge you to take action, stay informed, and critically examine all forms of power that intentionally inflict extreme suffering on the people of Palestine. Our voice and expertise are crucial in this fight for justice. #stopthegenocide
