Om oss

Lime Petroleum is a small and fast-growing full cycle exploration and production company established in 2012. The Company was pre-qualified in February 2013 and has since then grown a portfolio of exploration and production licenses on the Norwegian Continental shelf. In 2021 The Company expanded from a pure exploration company to a full cycle exploration and production company. Our offices are located at Skøyen in Oslo. We have built a balanced portfolio of licenses in frontier and mature areas. Our goal is to grow our portfolio further through licensing rounds and farm-ins and to participate in 1-3 exploration wells per year. We use state-of-the-art data and technology, and in addition to market seismic attributes, we use an in-house DHI in the frequency domain, named “Rex Virtual Drilling” (RVD). Lime Petroleum is committed to a sustainable future engaging in projects that aim at lowering our carbon footprint. The Company is taking part in a project for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) as well as actively participating in initiatives to reduce CO2 emissions from operations where we are involved. Our parent company Rex International Holding is also engaged in initiatives to lower the carbon footprint of its operations. Lime Petroleum's strategy is to explore for, develop, and produce hydrocarbons, primarily focused on oil, on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in close cooperation with our operators and the authorities. Inspires new ideas that create energy for the world!

Today, I had the privilege of participating in the EAGE Student Field Trip: Fault Outcrops in Carbonate Rocks along the beach at Huk. This immersive experience allowed us to closely observe and study the geological features from Huk Naturiststrand to Hukodden strand, taking the opportunity to observe various outcrops along the way. It was an enriching morning where we learned and shared knowledge about the region's geology. Additionally, I had the opportunity to share this experience with geoscience and geophysics students from universities around the world, which further enriched our learning. I thank EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) for organizing this incredible field trip as part of the EAGE Annual 2024, and my colleagues for their enthusiasm and collaboration. Thanks Lime Petroleum AS for your sponsorship. #Geology #EAGEAnnual2024 #Learning #Science

Meet Vlad! ✨ He is our Chief Geophysicist, and our colleague from the very beginning of Lime almost 12 years ago. This is his story about how he got into geophysics, and how his career brought him to Lime: I studied geophysics at the Leningrad Mining Institute. But the study required a broad and deep education, which included basic subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and specialized ones - geological and geophysical. In my third year of study, I especially liked the course “Linear Systems and Signals.” Exactly this course determined my professional career which started with borehole seismic processing (VSP) and expanded to 3D seismic acquisition, in-house and full on-board processing, and finally having reached seismic interpretation. Even as a teenager, I didn’t know that I would be a geophysicist, but I already for sure knew that my work would be related to geology. At the age of 12, I read the story “Territory” by geologist Oleg Kuvaev, about the search for gold, and since then I have been infected with the romance of new lands, discoveries and achieving goals. And for thirty-three years after graduating from the institute, I have worked as a geophysical Sherpa in geology, working in more than thirty countries and on all continents, even in Antarctica. One of the previous companies I worked for was Bergen Oilfield Services (BOS), whose investors and invited me to Lime, where in twelve years I went from processing and AVO geophysicist to Chief geophysicist. So, my entire adult life is related to geology and geophysics, and even my wife is a geophysicist, and my son is a geologist. But besides geology and geophysics, we also enjoy snorkeling, and I still love literature. Lastly, we asked Vlad if he has any advice for his current and future colleagues, and this was his answer: Have a dream and follow your dream.
