Ever wonder how 'Dibber' got its name? It stems from the childhood memories of our founder, Hans Jacob. He'd accompany his father on their farm, and would use a simple yet powerful tool: a dibber. This wooden instrument poked holes in the soil, preparing it for seeds and young plants.   The name resonated with us because, at Dibber, we plant the seeds of knowledge and environmental awareness in every Dibber child. Just as nurturing is vital for seeds to flourish, we guide and inspire our children to grow and thrive.   This #WorldEnvironmentDay, let’s celebrate our children. A Journey of Growth and Contribution at Dibber Germany Jasmin Bruckmann, an important addition to Dibber Germany for the past 3 years, has made significant contributions to the Dibber administration and has also become a cherished member of the Dibber family.  Intrigued by the company's concept and philosophy, she seized the opportunity when a job advertisement caught her eye. Her decision was solidified after experiencing the welcoming atmosphere and meeting the people behind Dibber during the interview process. One of the most memorable experiences for Jasmin was participating as an exhibitor at the Didacta trade fair in Cologne which allowed her to contribute to the visibility of Dibber in Germany. Jasmin's aspirations involve deepening her expertise within her department and collaborating on exciting projects with her team. Her dedication to continuous learning and active involvement speaks volumes about her personal and professional growth commitment. She expresses gratitude for the trust they have instilled in her during her time with the company. The supportive and collegial atmosphere has contributed to a positive work environment within both her department and various functions.  Outside of the bustling Dibber offices, Jasmin engages in activities that reflect her diverse interests. Jasmin is a dedicated individual with a passion for family, literature, and sports. Whether it's spending quality time with her family, delving into the pages of a captivating book, or actively participating in sports, she finds joy in the balance of work and personal pursuits. Her advice to newcomers includes not neglecting hobbies. Meet Eric Todd Guggisberg, one of our teachers at Dibber's Children’s International School (CIS), Norway. Coming from a background in acting and fuelled by a passion for high-energy pursuits like downhill mountain biking and snowboarding, Eric infuses a distinctive vibrancy into the Dibber world.  Eric's path to Dibber was a fortuitous blend of passion and persistence. Having relocated from the bustling streets of New York City to Norway in 2018, he transitioned from the world of acting to education. Starting as a teaching assistant, he eventually became a fully certified teacher for the Middle Year Program (7th to 10th grade). One of Eric's proudest achievements is creating a fulfilling life and career in Norway. This endeavor demanded resilience and adaptability, qualities that now contribute to his effectiveness as an educator at Dibber. Looking ahead, Eric aspires to deepen student-teacher relationships, viewing them as the foundation of the educational system. He also advocates for diverse perspectives in the classroom, particularly encouraging more male figures in early education. Eric showcases talents beyond teaching. As a skilled cyclist, he can execute backflips, 360s and more. He is also a successful actor and has appeared in both American and Norwegian productions in both theatre and television. During quieter moments, he delves into poetry, revealing a multifaceted approach to life that exemplifies the importance of embracing diverse interests. Establishing a drama club at CIS, he initiated a platform where students honed crucial skills in clarity and expression, integral for effective public speaking and presentation—abilities applicable not only in their academic journey but also in their future adult lives. Students learned the values of respect, empathy, and understanding others' emotions.  Eric faced a significant personal challenge when his younger brother passed away. Returning to work amidst grief, he drew strength from his students and the daily routine of showing up. His resilience mirrors the deep bond between educators and students at Dibber. Eric's wish is for those facing challenges to recognize that it's okay not to be okay. He encourages honesty and openness, reminding everyone that they are loved and supported. Navigating the delicate balance between work and life, Eric emphasizes the importance of finding equilibrium and unapologetically maintaining it.  In the narrative of Eric's journey at Dibber, resilience, joy, and human connection are woven together, inspiring both students and colleagues alike. In the heart of Espoo, Finland, at the Pilke Kaisla Early Childhood Centre (Dibber Finland), you'll find Nina Forsbacka, a compassionate general assistant. Nina has been an integral part of the Dibber family since 2004 when her journey began as a housekeeper, a position that has evolved over the years but has consistently held a special place in her heart. Through the years, she has contributed her skills and dedication to various units, showcasing her resilience and commitment to her work. Beyond her professional life, Nina finds joy in simple yet profound pleasures. Nature, art, and board games with her children, including Monopoly and a new game where the goal is to be the first to lose a million, bring warmth and connection to her family life. Beyond their entertainment value, these board games have played a crucial role in her son's development, imparting valuable mathematical skills. As a mother of two, Nina treasures the proudest accomplishment of her life – being a mother and staying strong for her children.  Surprising her colleagues with a hidden talent, Nina shares that she can effortlessly do 30 push-ups at once. Reflecting on her journey, Nina vividly recalls the day she walked into Pilke Kaisla, her current unit. Her colleagues' familiar faces and warm embrace made her feel instantly at home, reinforcing her connection with the organization. Her journey is not without obstacles, but those challenges have been integral to her personal and professional growth. Acknowledging her ongoing challenge with computer skills, Nina approaches it with a spirit of continual learning, supported by the collaborative efforts of her colleagues.  Despite economic challenges, Nina has been involved in giving back to the community through donations, reflecting her commitment to making a positive impact beyond the workplace.  Nina's advice to newcomers is rooted in her own experiences – listen, ask, and focus on your task. A Finnish saying, "Niin se metsä vastaa kuin sinne huudetaan”, “The forest will answer you in the way you call to it”, is her guiding compass emphasizing the importance of reciprocity, kindness, and effective communication. Nina reflects on the fulfilment her work brings, describing it not just as a job but as a labor of love. Her journey at Dibber encapsulates resilience, commitment, and a genuine connection with the children she interacts with daily.
