🚀 Excited to share our latest article, co-authored with a great team of early career researchers (ECRs) from APECS - Association of Polar Early Career Scientists and other groups. Our goal was to explore the role of ECRs in reviewing the IPCC reports! 🌍📚 The study highlights the contributions of 600 ECRs from over 70 countries. Key findings include: 🔍 Diverse Perspectives: ECRs help counteract biases, bringing fresh insights for more balanced reports. 💪 Skill Development: Involvement in the review process fosters essential skills and career growth for ECRs. 📈 Substantial Contributions: ECRs produced an average of 2,422 comments per review, with 36% being substantive. I am glad to let you know that our article about the group reviews of IPCC reports by Early Career Researchers (ECRs) has just been published! You can find it here: https://lnkd.in/gtw83X2Z We show that these group reviews organized by the Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) and its partners were a success in terms of the experience of ECRs and their contribution to the IPCC review process. We argue that including a diverse group of ECR reviewers can help produce more balanced scientific reports because they bring new perspectives.
