You hear it over the spring air...
Come one, come all, to the Tournament of Tournaments, the duels of valor, of honor, of romance, of peril. Grab a fried treat, and settle in your seats, for the fight begins soon!
The brightly colored plumage of knights in their icon-frocked gallantry pokes from behind the stands, glints of polished shields and blades flicker in the sun. Banners fly high up above, and below, in the dew-drop shade of the stadium’s seating, the gambling men gather. Shells and balls swapped, tricks taken, and bets placed—you huddle in, a newcomer to dear old Fawn-Town, the bustling village on the outskirts of the sunken Three-River Castle.
Welcomed by your rough appearance and less than noble demeanor. Both you and the shady fellows peer from beneath the stands, getting a good look at the knights who have gathered. Their distinctive palettes and crests making them easy to track—as you place your slips to the ledger and your coins in the pot.

A heraldic betting game for 2 teams.

Rules for two teams to run engaging and gambling focused duels. Generate heraldic crests and your own Knights in light hearted tournament style combat. Slots easily into any system (no Game Masters needed!).

This is a great way to introduce betting into my campaign without it becoming tedious or falling behind on the narrative side. I loved it !

One problem though, there is nothing in the pdf for when the two sides have the same Renown.
Personally I ruled it as both side are paid twice their bet if they win and the first acting team is determined by having each team roll a dice and see who's highest. But it would make Faire Play even better if there was a way to handle this directly in the pdf.

Thank you for checking out Faire Play! It’s one of my favorite games I’ve written.

I agree with rolling to to see who moves first. When reknown is tied its known as a “pick’em game” in traditional sports betting this pays out as winner gets all, I think your solution of twice their bet (as if they were both the Long Shot Knight) works perfectly.
