A determined approach to transform knowledge into groundbreaking biomedical products.
Over ons
A strong value chain for the Netherlands Lab-on-chip, organ-on-chip, artificial organs, and cell production technology: the Netherlands is not lacking in knowledge. What is missing, however, is a determined approach to transform this knowledge into groundbreaking products. With the NXTGEN Hightech program, we are making the difference in this area. From knowledge to production The (academic) knowledge in the Netherlands is very high in the areas of Lab-on-Chip, Organ-on-Chip, Artificial Organs, and Cell Production Technology, but it is not (effectively) transformed into products. The main reason for this is the need for a multidisciplinary chain of suppliers of high-quality specialist components in both the technological and biological fields. A dynamic ecosystem We can achieve this by connecting pieces of existing technology together, for example, for the production of chips, cells, bioactive materials. The companies already exist, but because they come from different fields, they sometimes do not yet speak the same language, let alone have technologies that interconnect seamlessly. Therefore, we are creating an ecosystem, an environment, where we collaborate intensively and align technologies with each other. These are the projects that are currently active within the Biomedical domain: - One-stop-shop - Lab-on-a-chip - Organ-on-a-chip - Artificial Organs - Cel production technology

Congrats to the passionate and proud team of Delta Life Science on your product launch and achieving this in such an ambitious timeframe! The launch was almost 'non-Dutch' festive, good reminder we need to celebrate milestones more often! "Faster development of drugs and diagnostic tests" was on one of the slides presented at their product launch last Friday. This could summarize very well one of the aims within the Biomed | NXTGEN Hightech domain in which they are a valuable partner. Looking forward to jointly strengthening the Dutch Lab-on-Chip sector and celebrating upcoming milestones in the coming years. NXTGEN Hightech, #labonchip, #OoC, #cellproduction, #artificialorgans

In this survey by Biomed | NXTGEN Hightech, GoCART Coalition, DARE NL, The EBMT, and T2EVOLVE, we seek the insights of facility operations managers, production operations managers, quality assurance managers and quality control managers engaged in cell and gene therapy activities. Our goal is to understand the structure and capacity of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Product (ATMP) facilities and to map current needs in cell culture technology. Data from this survey will inform decision-making and strategic planning in the ATMP sector, benefiting the entire field through shared knowledge and targeted recommendations. Consortium Meeting Recap: Advancing Next-Generation Cell Production Technologies > Last week, the Cell Production Technologies project (Biomed05) gathered at the University of Twente for another inspiring consortium meeting. The primary goal was to discuss the progress of our project, which focuses on next-generation cell production technologies. With partners from different fields, we are working towards a solution to achieve comprehensive control over the cell expansion process. During the meeting, we had engaging breakout sessions where we delved into the details of our demonstrators, which focus on: - iPSC production - Viral vector production The discussions were insightful and highlighted the need for interdisciplinary collaborations to drive innovation! 🤝 Join the conversation! If you’re interested in discussing advancements in cell production technologies, we invite you to reach out and connect with us! Exciting Progress in the 'Artificial Organs' Project (Biomed04)! Last Friday, our consortium gathered at imec in the Holst Centre in #Eindhoven. It was an inspiring day where we made significant strides in developing the next generations of artificial organs, focusing on patients with kidney failure. Our shared vision is to make these life-changing devices progressively smaller and more efficient, ultimately aiming for implantable solutions. The diversity of the involved organizations enables us to support each other in product development, production, testing, #standardization, #regulation, and market strategy. The open discussions and shared knowledge during this meeting were crucial for our progress. Together, we are working on the artificial organs of the future, which will significantly improve the quality of life for many patients. In Biomed04 – Artificial Organs, 15 partners are working on the development, production, and scaling of (components of) future artificial organs with a focus on artificial #kidneys (demonstrator 1) and #vascular prostheses (#biodegradable #stents and #grafts; demonstrator 2), as well as the test platforms needed for #verification and #validation. Thank you to everyone who attended and a special thanks to imec for hosting us! #ArtificialOrgans #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalTechnology #Innovation Attached is a photo from the meeting.
