A month ago we moved with Future Affairs Consulting to CIC Rotterdam (in the beautiful historic "Groothandelsgebouw"). So now you can find us right at Rotterdam Central Station, connected not only to the large CIC community and the many #climate and #impact driven companies here, but also close to Brussels and Paris.  Thanks for the warm welcome to the community Joyce Kornet-Vreugdenhil and the obviously totally unbiased recommendation from Melissa Ablett-Jordaan ;) to choose CIC. I am looking forward to make even more impact. We have so much work to do. However, we will only get there with real substance - we need to deliver on impact. And this means: ➡️ on #decarbonisation (at scale!) ➡️ on #closedloop production (scope 3 emissions!) ➡️ on #netzero targets (and concrete, measurable roadmaps to get there) ➡️ on clear #sustainabilitystandards (no, #ISO is not enough) ➡️ While avoiding the paralysing effect of rather excessive precautionary measures (or using them as a shield against the climate innovation we urgently need) and other regulations that stifle the growth of our home-grown #climatetech innovation system in the EU. Great new piece in FUTUREVVORLD on #recycling. Thanks to Allen Zelden for including me. "The current state of things, as Paul Foulkes-Arellano notes, simply does not stack up: “Right now, it’s not hugely cost effective to ship/truck old waste to a recycling facility, where the price paid for finished product gives a small margin. Governments will never “support” recycling, in fact they’re introducing #EPR fees to make money to subsidize other government activities. Government isn’t a charity. Legislation means cost for brands and retailers – government isn’t giving genuine tax breaks to brands who recycle most – they are peripheral.” Full story here: https://lnkd.in/e6kyeWAN

We utilise the Bloomreach Engagement CDP to craft a consent aware, near real-time, data enhanced hashed Conversion API payload and send it to Snap's Marketing API to great effect. As the MarTech engineer implementing this, it's always great to see such remarkable results. Each CAPI can really offer a win for all; visitors in terms of privacy and personalisation/relevance, publisher/merchant in terms of privacy controls, lower CAC and increased ROAS (combined to increased profitability) and the social media / advertiser platform for offering a better experience and results, logically followed by increased ad revenues. Looking back on 2 inspiring days last week at the Sustainability Expo with lots of interesting presentations, panel discussions and talks. Fortunately, there is good progress on Scope 1,2 and 3 reductions at many companies, but there is also still a lot to do. And not only on the E in ESG, but certainly also on the S. Human rights, living income, child labour, diversity and inclusion, the position of women, these are all social challenges that we also need to address. And preferably we tackle the E, S and G together (companies, NGOs and governments) in integrated programs so that we can make a maximum contribution to achieving the ESG commitments. #ESG #Sustainability #SDGs

A crucial step taken in the Netherlands, to now strongly and explicitly support the energy transition manufacturing industry. The new backbone of the energy economy. At the Netherlands Enterprise Agency we work very hard to get excellent plans in, as from October 1st. Even more work is done at many companies around the country to make these very plans. For Dutch speakers: check https://lnkd.in/gxyPxZ7q We are trying to ‘advance clean technology manufacturing’. And perhaps it is no coincidence that the International Energy Agency (IEA) very recently brought out a report with exactly the same title https://lnkd.in/efvbuJaY. It’s an amazing report which for instance highlights that the year-on-year growth of this sector is 70%. Now, that’s a sector you want to be in. More importantly, perhaps, is that the report intends ‘to provide decision makers with an analytical toolkit to design and evaluate their strategies for clean technology manufacturing’. I was glad to see that the IEA includes policy incentives for manufacturing industries explicitly in its recommendations – always good to agree with the IEA. But beyond that the IEA comes up with a thought provoking list of 6 building blocks of a policy strategy that truly builds this sector. These include building domestic (I read: European) markets, shortening and securing supply lines, and ensuring the societal embedding of rapidly growing industries. Building a sector relies on much more than (energy) costs alone, nothing is lost for the EU or the Netherlands. This sector can and will grow and flourish in our part of the world. As it hopefully also does in others.
