The content of this diploma is divided into a theoretical part, and a practical part, which is conducted at the National Research Center facilities. The content of this diploma is divided into a theoretical part, and a practical part, which is conducted at the National Research Center facilities. The theoretical part goes over all the important concepts in molecular biology such as the central dogma, structures of DNA, RNA and proteins and the differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic DNA replication. Also, topics in proteomics include Protein sequencing, purification assays and protein-protein recognition, while topics in genomics include creating cDNA libraries, and different methods of gene isolation.

Topics in the practical part include DNA isolation from different sources, DNA amplification and cloning. Conventional and RT-PCR techniques are demonstrated. Protein isolation, purification, protein & Isozyme electrophoresis are performed as well.
