We believe in ideas as powerful as the ocean We are excited to share valuable insights from our recent research on beach seaweed. Various tests with different beach seaweed streams have been part of our Circular Chain Project from Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), thanks to Renewi, and have yielded positive outcomes. · Beach seaweed is a valuable resource that requires further investment. · Obtaining a stable input of beach seaweed requires more information and collaboration between municipalities and provinces. · Further developing the triple processing of beach seaweed is worthwhile. We successfully organized the first Seaweed Table Non-food event, resulting in a comprehensive overview of the valorization of washed-up seaweed on Dutch beaches. The event saw the participation of numerous stakeholders Gemeente Rotterdam Gemeente Westland Provincie Zuid-Holland Provincie Noord-Holland Noord holland and has been shortlisted for the Circular Chain Award by Versnellingshuis Het Groene Brein. But these positive results mean nothing without taking steps towards the future. With the help of Elfrieke van Galen from TheRockGroup (TRG), we have held multiple sessions focused on the development of this chain. Therefore, we are establishing two follow-up consortia: The Seaweed Collective (Non-food): focused on the collective collection of beach seaweed by municipalities, includes Spaak Circular Solutions B.V., Grondstoffen Collectief Nederland, Zee Boerderij IJmond (Sea Farm IJmond) and SeaWood Materials. SeaCrop Solutions: this consortium aims to develop a triple processing approach for cultivated seaweed, producing biostimulants, creating textile colorants, and developing building materials. We are seeking interested parties to join the advisory board for our Seaweed Collective. Municipalities and provinces from The Netherlands keen on being involved in advancing the beach seaweed chain in the Netherlands are invited to participate. We would like to thank our early supporters for their unwavering commitment and belief in our mission. Happy Kings Day to everyone celebrating! We're thrilled to share that Zeefier is embarking on an incredible journey with the Dutch New Narrative Lab (DNNL), an organization dedicated to enabling inclusive and innovative entrepreneurship in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. At Zeefier, we're dreaming big and building momentum for the change we seek. Being part of DNNL is a testament to our commitment to building a new narrative, especially within the realm of social enterprise businesses tackling complex societal goals. Here are the three key steps that outline DNNL's approach and that we're eagerly diving into: Crafting an ecosystem monitor akin to a "diversity & inclusion" thermometer for NL startups, providing crucial insights for informed decision-making. Establishing a 'sales driven' entrepreneurial lab, serving as an incubator for diverse entrepreneurs, nurturing innovation and professional growth. Collaborating to develop a media platform, amplifying the visibility of diverse entrepreneurs, and challenging prevailing stereotypes. These steps are integral to fostering diversity, inclusion, and innovation in the startup ecosystem, aligning perfectly with our goal of driving positive change and equitable entrepreneurship at Zeefier. A heartfelt thank you to Dutch New Narrative Lab, Social Enterprise NL, and Google.org for welcoming us into the 𝑫𝑵𝑵𝑳 𝑿 𝑺𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑬𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑵𝑳 cohort 2024. We're deeply honored to be selected and ready to contribute our part to scalability, social impact, and long-term economic diversity and innovation. Thanks, Ruben Brave Anahí Páez and team for the inspiration today. #InclusiveEntrepreneurship #DNNL #SocialImpact #Innovation #Zeefier #PositiveChange

International Women's Day (#IWD), celebrated today, holds profound significance for female entrepreneurs worldwide, as well as for us in Europe and the Netherlands. It's a pivotal reminder of the ongoing fight for gender equality and serves as a platform to highlight both the strides made and the challenges yet to be overcome. For us as a female-owned company, this day is particularly meaningful. It's an opportunity to showcase the leadership, innovation, and resilience of women in business while advocating for inclusivity and promoting gender parity. Especially for International Women's Day and at the initiative of Code-V Vrouwelijk Ondernemerschap-V, a podcast was created addressing the critical topic of securing funding for female entrepreneurs. Our business founder, Anne Boermans, participated in a lively discussion at Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) alongside Noreen van Holstein and Joyce Knappe, with gratitude to Caroline Essers for her excellent questions! We invite you to listen to this insightful podcast (in Dutch) via code-v.nl Thanks, Sara Liesker, and WomensBizz for asking us. While we are a female-owned business, we highly value collaboration with men too. We recently had an outstanding collaboration with the talented photographer Dave van Dartel, and we are thrilled to reveal this first image he captured for us. Together, let's continue to inspire others, foster supportive ecosystems, and drive positive change toward a more equitable and inclusive entrepreneurial landscape. We believe in inclusivity in gender, ethnicity, age, ability, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status and we embrace it. A huge shout-out to all these incredible role models, you know who you are! #internationalwomensday #inclusivity #seaweeddyes

Our colors at Material District and how we started with our industrial dyes Ten years ago Nienke Hoogvliet was confronted with the shocking reality of the textile industry, which touched her deeply. During a beach walk, something remarkable caught her eye: the beach was filled with washed-up seaweed in various colors. This gave her the idea to investigate whether seaweed could serve as a dye. She began craft experiments, the results of which were extremely positive. This led her to extensive research into different types of seaweed and their properties, resulting in her book 'Seaweed Research'. https://lnkd.in/e7jqgVTV Textile companies began to request our natural industrial seaweed dyes. In 2020, Nienke teamed up with Anne Boermans, and together they founded Zeefier to supply the textile industry with a natural textile dye and make a large-scale impact. For the last 4 years, our team has done research and development in our labs. To ensure we deliver a dye that meets the industry standards. Currently, a team of 6 is devoted to realizing our dream: to be the biggest industrial seaweed dye company in the world. Next week on March 6, 7, and 8th the Zeefier team will be at MaterialDistrict 2024 to promote our innovative textile dye made from 100% seaweed! MaterialDistrict offers a unique opportunity to explore the latest trends, technologies, and materials in the industry. The event will take place in Utrecht De Werkspoorkathedraal. We have a few tickets worth €25 to give away... Anne Boermans, Bianca Schasfoort-Zomer, and Tais Binnerts from our team will be present to inform you about the industrial innovations Zeefier has to offer and to discuss possible collaborations with you.
