Then keep reading ➡ Young ICCA Voices, an online magazine created by and for young arbitration practitioners, is accepting submissions for its upcoming issue. This issue will focus on Central Asia and the Caucasus region. Authors interested in submitting an article should send their submissions to [email protected] by 31 July 2024. Articles should be between 500 and 1,200 words, including end notes, and must be original pieces that offer insightful and well-argued perspectives on international arbitration topics. 🔎 The search begins for the next Young ICCA Co-Chair! We will soon launch elections to replace current co-chair Shirin Gurdova whose term ends in September 2024. To that effect, we are now accepting expressions of interest from potential co-chair candidates until 26 July 2024. 🌐 Why become a Young ICCA Co-chair alongside Rohit Bhat and Eva Chan? As a Young ICCA Co-chair, you will have the platform to make a significant difference and to help support young arbitration practitioners and students in their aspirations for a career in international #arbitration. The Co-chairs are the public-facing representatives of and speak on behalf of Young ICCA, an organization with some 16,000 members. Young ICCA Co-chairs sit on the Young ICCA Committee, together with the ICCA President, Executive Director and several ICCA Governing Board Members. The Co-chairs generally work very closely with the ICCA Bureau, and assist on a variety of projects and tasks, including, for example, sitting on ICCA’s Judiciary Committee. As a Young ICCA Co-chair, you will manage the main pillars of Young ICCA – including Events, Scholarships, Mentoring– and be part of improving access to scholarships, skills training workshops, publishing opportunities and encouraging and supporting mentorship for young arbitration practitioners, no matter which corner of the world they may be located. ➡ Find more information on the election process and apply on the #YoungICCA website: https://lnkd.in/eKV-YtGH.

Young ICCA and HK45 invited Dr. Claudia Winkler from The Negotiation Academy LLC to lead a skills training workshop during the ICCA 2024 Hong Kong Congress. Participants explored the intersection of negotiation and human behaviour, focusing on the psychological underpinnings of negotiation strategy and decision-making.   Through interactive exercises and role-playing simulations, attendees analysed how to leverage #negotiation psychology to their advantage in their negotiations. Topics included interest-based negotiation and its persuasive power; game theory in win-win negotiation; anchoring in competitive bargaining; and framing and other unconscious biases. Recent editions of the Young ICCA Mentoring Programme Online Interview Series featured fireside chats with Mentors Stefano Azzali, Melanie van Leeuwen and Klaus Sachs. The Interview Series is a unique opportunity for Mentoring Programme participants to learn from established arbitration experts and to interact with fellow Mentees.
