Over ons

Founded in 2006 and based on the same model as WorldSkills International, WorldSkills Europe is a not-for-profit membership association open to agencies or bodies in Europe which have a responsibility for promoting vocational education and training in their respective countries. WorldSkills Europe operates across Europe and is politically and denominationally neutral. WorldSkills Europe promotes vocational, technological and service oriented education and training across Europe, working with youth, educators, governments, and industries to help prepare the workforce and talent of today for the jobs of the future. We bring together youth, industries, and educators to give young people the chance to compete, experience, and learn how to become the best in their skill of choice. Together with 32 WorldSkills Europe Member countries, WorldSkills Europe organises EuroSkills – the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in Europe. Held every two years, EuroSkills sees hundreds of young people aged under 25 from countries across Europe come together to compete for the chance to become the Best in Europe in their chosen skill or profession.

New research shows that national success from Competitors at an international #WorldSkills Competition is enough to inspire other students to consider a career in that skill for themselves! Incredible. The Positive Reputation Shock Report found that when a SwissSkills Competitor wins a gold medal 🥇, there is a 7% increase in national searches for apprenticeship vacancies in that particular occupation, along with 2.5% more contracts being signed in the winning occupation. 📈 It shows the acclaim given to medal winners have a positive impact on the skill and country. “The research is incredibly exciting as we now have data that proves how participating and excelling at skills competitions can be a powerful way of inspiring a new generation of young people. Industry and educators should take note , too," says Andre Burri, Official Delegate for SwissSkills. Together #WeAreWorldSkills and #WeAreMakingOurMark! Motivate with us.
