Announcing the 2nd #WISTA Environmental Masterclass! Check out this talk where Claudia Beumer, shares her insights on: "How future fuels will change the maritime industry" Background: The search for the perfect marine fuel to meet all current and upcoming decarbonisation requirements is in full swing. Technological developments, different pricing models and reporting schemes are some of the elements that come into play, and they all have a huge impact on the way we work in the maritime industry. There is no perfect fuel, but one thing is clear: no matter what fuel you will choose, the current way of working will change moving forward. This masterclass will provide a holistic overview of the different fuel options and their pros and cons—and more importantly—how these will change the way we work today. The technologies are there, but is the maritime industry ready to adapt to the new reality? Biography: Claudia Beumer is a Chemical Engineer by education, and since 2011, she has been exploring different aspects of the maritime industry. Her passion and interest in the use and production of (bio) LNG and the other alternative fuels has grown ever since. From the 1st of January, she is now applying that knowledge, experience and passion in running her own company C4 fuel, providing training and advice on all aspects of (alternative) fuels, including the use of Massflowmeters. In addition, Claudia works as a Membership and Communication Manager for SGMF - Leading safe maritime decarbonisation, an NGO supporting maritime stakeholders on the safe and sustainable use of low- and zero-carbon fuels from a technical perspective. These bite-sized, 15-minute presentations provide engaging updates on the latest environmental issues affecting the shipping industry. Recorded talks will be posted on the first Thursday of the month, so make sure to tune in!

At AEGIR-Marine BV, we’re passionate about remanufacturing as the fastest path to a more sustainable maritime industry. Beyond its significant environmental impact, remanufacturing can also reduce production costs by 40-60%—making it a game-changer for both the planet and businesses. This lab is a collaborative effort with Delft University of Technology, Maritime Remanufacturing Network, Bureau Veritas Group, JR Shipping, ATLA Propulsion Controls, Maritime Sisters, Pulse NDT & Inspection Engineering, Circular Maritime Technologies (CMT International b.v.) and Fluvia AG—all working together to shape a more sustainable future for the maritime industry. We’re excited to invite all WISTA members to experience this innovation firsthand at our Remanufacturing Lab on 31st October in the historic city of Wijk bij Duurstede. WISTA members can easily register for this special event through the WISTA the Netherlands app. We’re also proud to have been featured in the SmartPortRdam video, highlighting circular initiatives in the Dutch maritime sector. Ruud Muis joins the Maritime Sisters and the Province of South Holland to discuss how remanufacturing can solve key sustainability challenges in the industry. Looking forward to welcoming you to our lab and driving the future of maritime sustainability together! #MaritimeSisters   #MaritimeRemanufacturingNetwork   #Remanufacturing   #CircularEconomy   #GreenInnovation   #SustainableMaritime   #AEGIRMarine   #WISTA #BuiltOnService

Cheers to the new Conoship International office in Rotterdam, with a special get-together between Conoship and WISTA The Netherlands! We really enjoyed the amazing port(!) view, good company and mostly: the inspiring stories! We dove straight into the way this #innovativeshipdesigner has been doing things differently since 1952 and now along with the #greenmaritimecoalition is developing ways to make both existing and new ships sail more sustainably. And how they are challenging players to work together in a smarter way to make sure we can still build these ships competitively in The Netherlands. After a warm welcome by powerhouse Lihua Yuan, Maarten Sickler took us through the innovations Conoship International is pushing forward, followed by a lively discussion in which Geert Dokter joined as well. Much appreciated that you came all the way from up north to discuss how we can further shake up the maritime world! Let’s go 🙌 #sustainablemaritimefuture #innovativeshipdesign #smartcollaboration #womenwhomovetheworld #partnersincrime #wista

Every year at the Maritime Awards Gala, the diversity theme comes up. As it becomes painfully visible how smokings and shiny shoes still very much outnumber colorful dresses within our industry.  Time to change that, one shiny shoe at a time. As WISTA The Netherlands we always have (at least) one table for our members at the gala, but we'd love to shake things up a bit more! So we’re aiming to double that (with the ambition to double the number of women each year from now on 😉) We're thrilled that NMT | Netherlands Maritime Technology, as the event's organizer, is fully behind our mission and supporting us by reserving an extra table and giving us a special deal! So, who's ready to join us in bringing more color to this year's MAG?! - @Wista NL members: Sign up in the WISTA app before September 30th to claim one of the extra seats at our tables. - All companies within the industry, support our mission by sponsoring the tickets of WISTA members within your company! - And to everyone else who is attending the MAG, make sure to invite some of the leading ladies within your company or network to join. 😊   Looking forward to seeing you all November 4th!

“Just a bunch of powerwomen at a bar, overlooking the water.” As our member Claudia Beumer beautifully called yesterday's get-together. As our calendar for after summer quickly fills up with events full of insights and discussions that will further connect and bring forward our network, members ánd industry, we took some time yesterday to toast on the summer holidays and recharge.  Happy summer! 😎 #WISTATheNetherlands #summerdrinks #Womeninmaritime

Day of the Seafarer 2024 With a great audience, we have been invited to the beautiful premises of Marlow Navigation Netherlands, to celebrate our Seafarers sailing the oceans, ensuring our commodities are shipped safely all over the world. We were welcomed in the wonderful location in Rhoon, where we had a great networking and content event prepared for members and guests. Starting with a key note by Karin Orsel , CEO of MF Shipping Group and Chair of European Community Shipowners' Associations (ECSA) , we continued with a panel discussion about the Seafarer of the Future. Moderated by Marielle Gehlert, Fleet Manager at Rederij Groen BV, she interviewed Karin Staal, Crew Consultant from Staal Maritime, Elize V. Crewing Manager at Anthony Veder and Jorunn Eldøy Sales Director and board member of Mintra. It was a great discussion about the experience of women at sea, the ongoing developments for crew and secure based leadership, psychological safety and trainings, that are being more and more put into focus. The personal development opportunities and possibilities have evolved immensely in the past decade. What better to discuss with industry experts, to define the key of successful crew management and ensure sustainable continuity for our seafaring community. We would like to thank all involved, special thanks to Frans Roelse and team, who made the event possible. #dayoftheseafarer #wista #crewing #seafarer #opportunities #development #humanresources #assets #securebasedleadership #leaders #maritime #womenwhomovetheworld
