Deze week stellen we een nieuwe vriend voor, namelijk VDL Jansen. VDL Jansen (tot 2022 Jansen Poultry Equipment) werd in 1986 opgericht door de heer A.H. Jansen. Door kennis van techniek en pluimvee te combineren wist hij het eerste automatische legnest te ontwikkelen en produceren. Tegenwoordig levert VDL Jansen een groot assortiment huisvestingssystemen voor de pluimveehouderij en is uitgegroeid tot een internationaal opererend bedrijf. Nog steeds combineren ze bij VDL Jansen de kennis van pluimvee en techniek bij de ontwikkeling van nieuwe producten en systemen. Hierbij wordt nauw samengewerkt met pluimvee specialisten, technische ontwikkelaars, educatieve instellingen en onderzoeksinstituten. Het uiteindelijke doel van VDL Jansen is klanten te voorzien van systemen die hen in staat stellen optimale productieresultaten te behalen. 𝗣𝗼𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 🐓 Karel, our poultry manager recently visited a Dutch client who extended his existing special support structure with nests with two aviary systems on either side. The customer's question was whether the animals would move sufficiently over the different levels as he is setting up brown hens and the outside aisles are quite narrow. 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝘁-𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲: 'After observing the animals in the house, I particularly noticed that the hens in the outside aisles did not know how to go down and up well. I advised installing additional approach platforms and repositioning the stairs between levels, also from the top floor to the higher portal system. We also discussed the supply of feed and water in the aviary system and the light intensity in front of the nest to encourage the hens to get moving and lay their eggs in the nest.' 𝗔 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯: 'The stairs and approach platforms are frequently used and the hens can find their way around the whole system well. At 23 weeks of age, the hens are at 90% production with just over 1% outside nest eggs. A fantastic result if you ask me, and the farmer is also very happy with how the round has gone so far. Evert heeft totaal 47 jaar bij ons gewerkt, dat is een feestje waard en daarmee luiden we vanmiddag een lang weekend in.
