With over 25 years of experience at VDL ETG, he has collected extensive knowledge and expertise throughout the entire organisation, which he now leverages in his current role. ‘The aspect I enjoy most about my role is the challenge of creating precision parts. Initially, some tasks may seem impossible, but with the right technical expertise and systems knowledge, you can find a fitting solution. Good social skills are crucial: as a team player, you get more done and can bring the right people together. Finding a solution to realise a part is incredibly rewarding. The VDL RobotSports team designed fully autonomous robots to play soccer with a regular FIFA ball, with the ultimate goal of defeating the human champions in 2050. Our Deputy Manager at VDL ETG Technology & Development B.V. Ton Peijnenburg is an active member of this team. What he finds most remarkable about this edition of RoboCup in Eindhoven? ‘’What I think is very positive, is that the event is accessible to everyone, reaching a broader audience beyond just the university. Ready to sweep away particles and make our modules thrive? By doing this you enhance the cleanliness of the modules that play an essential role in the latest generation of the EUV chip machines. Tin whiskers, a type of ‘dust’ that forms during the lithographic process, must be managed to prevent disruptions while manufacturing the fastest and smallest microchips. We’ve set up a specialised decontamination room where our engineers, equipped with protective suits and masks, remove these particles from the modules. This involves careful dismantling to avoid damaging the products and is a delicate job to cause minimal product damage. Samples are taken from the modules and examined in an external laboratory to ensure the highest cleanliness and quality standards. Are you our new decontamination engineer? Markjan Vermeer, Managing Director of T&D, took the stage with a warm welcome for all attendees. He was followed by keynote presenter Martin van de Brink, who shared more about the industry and the cooperation between VDL ETG and ASML. Ton Peijnenburg, deputy managing director at T&D, then took the audience through a comprehensive overview of key product developments and technical skills within the company. Throughout the years that Razaly worked at VDL ETG Singapore, he witnessed the company's transformation from a medium-sized precision parts-making manufacturer into one of Singapore's leading contract manufacturing companies. ‘’One of the most important aspects of my job as a Procurement officer is to ensure the quality and timeliness of the products and services delivered by our suppliers. As the go-to person for anything related to supply chain management, I have to deal with supplier performance in terms of quality and On-Time-Delivery. I resolve any issues that arise in the supply chain process. The challenge and satisfaction of buying quality mechanical parts from qualified suppliers at the correct pricing with the shortest possible lead time is something I truly enjoy.’’ Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential in Razaly's role. You have to both develop and maintain effective communication and collaboration with them. Unveiling the secrets of our innovations was a pivotal aspect of the T&D Technology Conference 2024. ⚡ The conference’s primary objective was to synergise the diverse expertise and learn from each other within VDL ETG Technology & Development B.V. The conference offered a day of inspiring presentations, discussions and valuable networking opportunities, all focused on knowledge sharing and preparing for the future. Highlights of the day: ✔️ T&D colleagues from all over the world came to Eindhoven for the conference; ✔️ Almost 600 colleagues attended the event; ✔️ Keynote speaker Martin van den Brink shared insights on industry trends; ✔️ 24 podium presentations about themes like magnetism, motion & forces, condition control and data science, divided into four parallel sessions. ✔️ 36 poster presentations were created to share a deeper understanding of various topics; ✔️ Concluding, the Best Poster and Best Presentation awards were granted. Tonke Boelens and Peter van der Heijden were the first to receive this one-of-a-kind in-house 3D Metal-printed award, a true limited edition. The day strengthened cooperation and knowledge sharing between the various T&D locations. It highlighted the extent of our existing and prospective pursuits in the high-tech market. We had the privilege to be a hosting organisation to the esteemed participants of the CERN Accelerator School - CAS’s lecture program. We welcomed 80 engineers and applied physicists who attended the course ‘Mechanical & Materials Engineering for Particle Accelerators and Detectors’. They visited VDL ETG Precision B.V. for a company presentation and facility tour. We provided insight into the precision engineering behind particle accelerator components. Together we exchanged expertise on the intricate mechanics of particle accelerators. We are proud to contribute to the program. Our collaboration with CERN underlines our commitment to advancing the field of particle physics. A big thank you to everyone involved for making this event a resounding success!

VDL Ambassador at heart? Then you describe HR Business Partner Josje Ras. For four years, she worked as a recruiter with various VDL companies across the country. In 2022, she made the move to HR Business Partner for VDL ETG's precision companies: VDL ETG Precision B.V. and VDL GL Precision B.V..   ‘’In 2022 I was ready for something new, a new challenge, but I wanted to stay within VDL. That's how I came in touch with Pim Hertogs of VDL ETG for the role of HR Business Partner. I am still extremely happy with the move. I think this is the coolest job within VDL 😊’’     Why Josje goes to work with a smile every day?
