‘People Matter’ is one of our main values here at Van Hessenand we continuously work on maintaining and improving the great relationship between Van Hessen and our employees. To celebrate Children's Day, a raffle was recently organised for the children of employees at all Van Hessen Argentina plants. We invited the children to do a drawing representing how they imagined their parents looked while at work. The employees sent in their children's creations, which prompted a greater emotional connection between their work and their family environment. Through this initiative, #VanHessen Argentina aimed to generate a closer and more motivating work environment, aligned with the values of integration and well-being. The drawings were displayed on the company's WhatsApp statuses, which allowed all employees to appreciate the children's creative representations. In addition, this activity reminded us of the importance of the role of each employee in the company and in their families. The main raffle prize was a gift card from a well-known toy store, designed so that the winning child could enjoy a special day with his or her family. This gesture reinforces Van Hessen's commitment to the well-being and happiness of its employees and their loved ones. The winner was a production worker at the Santa Fe plant. The news was enthusiastically received by both his co-workers and his family. The winning drawing, which captured the essence of the employee's effort and dedication in the workplace, was highlighted in the internal communication portal of the company. Van Hessen Argentina is committed to creating an environment where both work efforts and family ties are valued. The raffle was a resounding success, achieving the purpose of bringing employees and their families closer to the work environment in a playful and creative way. Introducing our wonderful team at Van Hessen Canada. Our Canadian team is located in Montreal, Quebec, and they are involved in the processing of natural hog and sheep casings. Their operations include receiving, rinsing, brining, or dry salting, packing, and dispatching products. Canada's national animal is the beaver, which symbolises hard work, resilience, and perseverance. We like to think our team embody similar attributes and that’s why their attention to detail and commitment to quality is of such importance. Impressively, across the 10 people pictured, 6 languages are spoken (English, French, Spanish, Italian, Greek and Bambara). Founded in 1902 as a family-owned company based in Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. By 1914 the company was moved to Rotterdam, which has the largest seaport in Europe. Guiness World Record with casings from Van Hessen! On July 11th, approx. 25.000 Kaesekrainer sausages with a total length of 3.65 km in Van Hessen hog casings were presented by meat manufacturer Franz Maier KG. This means an achievement as a new Guinness World Record for the longest sausage chain. The event took place in the Sofiensäle, Vienna. 10.000 sausages were donated to Die Tafel, Austria’s largest food bank. The previous record of 3.5 km was held in Belgium and dates back to 2013. Franz Maier KG is a long-term Van Hessen customer in Austria. Van Hessen is of course very proud to be associated with this record-breaking customer! #VanHessen #GuinessWorldRecord

On May 28-30, 2024, SIAL took place in Shanghai China. Devro and Van Hessen jointly presented in this international food show. At our stand, Van Hessen team and Devro team received many customers. Apart from the traditional interest in meat products (as normally this trade show focused on), our hog casing samples, and collagen casing samples also attracted eyes from visitors as we were the only stand that presented natural casing and collagen casing. Devro and Van Hessen jointly strengthened our brand in the China meat industry. In this event, one of Devro’s distributors, which was introduced by Devro to Van Hessen and now acting as van Hessen’s natural casing distributor, attended our stand and helped us a lot. They not only helped us to receive visitors but also brought some new potential customers who have stands in #SIAL to our stand for business discussion.
