    How is the shift from mass marketing to bespoke experiences redefining the luxury industry? In the latest edition of our Future Forecast series, Associate Experience Director Andrew Bellofatto explores the evolving world of luxury retail in 2024 and asks the question: How are luxury brands connecting with the ultra-rich elite in today's environment? Luxury brands are adjusting their strategies to cater to younger demographics who appreciate haute couture's artistry over fleeting trends. The emphasis on storytelling in luxury retail is now about creating lasting value and legacy, moving away from overt branding towards the richness of the rarefied and unattainable. LVMH and Kering, for example, are focusing on the richest luxury consumers who desire more bespoke service and less marketing – moving away from Instagram-first retail towards exclusive, elusive experiences.     On Monday we hosted a thought-provoking internal talk with FutureBrand, moderated by McCann Worldgroup, diving into the fascinating and complex world of bias and AI in the creative industry. Our Associate Experience Director, Andrew Bellofatto represented the UXUS team, and LGBTQ community, sharing some truly impactful insights during the discussion—with one key takeaway: always assume bias intent. Andrew also emphasised the importance of being conscious of the language and prompts we use in AI to ensure the output is inclusive and truly reflective of reality. He pointed out how AI struggles with capturing queerness and cultural fluidity, urging us to always keep these biases in mind.     Keti Koti, meaning "the chain is broken" in Sranantongo, was a celebration of freedom this Monday! The team came together to reflect on the day’s significance, and dive into its rich cultural heritage. We checked out some fantastic events around Amsterdam, including the lively #KetiKotiFestival, a moving performance by Anton de Bies at the H'ART Museum, and enjoyed a delicious Heri Heri meal by KIP REPUBLIC. These moments really helped us connect with the history and culture behind #KetiKoti. Being part of these events not only taught us a lot but also strengthened our commitment to empathy, respect, and inclusion.     On July 1, 1863, Dutch slavery in Suriname and in the former Netherlands Antilles was abolished. However, enslaved populations had to work for another ten years, until 1873. This day, also known as #KetiKoti, serves as a reminder of the enduring effects of colonialism and slavery on today’s society. At UXUS, we participate and release our employees on July 1st. By closing the agency, we make a statement that the values of freedom, equality, and respect are integral to our ethos. We also want to allow everyone to engage with this rich history and participate in meaningful activities. We believe in honoring this day, not just as a day off, but as a day of reflection and celebration.   This year, as every year, we invite you to join the Keti Koti campaign and support the establishment of July 1st as a national holiday. Together, let’s work towards making Keti Koti a recognized and celebrated day in the Netherlands.     Just a stone’s throw away from Brighton, The White Horses, the first hotel in the Everly Hotels Collection, is set to open on July 1st. At UXUS, we are incredibly proud to have collaborated with Greene King on the creation and development of the Everly Hotels Collection brand – timeless, high-quality hotels, with unique local charm and a distinct sense of place. As the inaugural property in this collection, it was an absolute pleasure to work on The White Horses' brand identity, guest experience, and interior design. We were thrilled to see it in person at a pre-opening event this week. While we can't reveal all the details just yet, stay tuned for an in-depth look at this beautiful project soon.     Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside!! I am so excited to introduce The White Horses in Rottingdean, our new Upscale Boutique Everly Hotels concept! It's been over two years in the making, and this weekend we finally welcome our first guests. A hugely collaborative team effort with innovative thinking from Greene King, and with partnerships from Strategic, Creative, & Implementation Design agencies across Europe and the UK, this project is a true design career highlight. From serene bedrooms and suites with stunning seascape views through to elegant dining, drinking and meeting spaces, there are real moments of Discovery for everyone. A passion to build a compelling brand and enhanced guest experiences has driven this project, and I couldn't be prouder of the magnificent, elegant and breathtaking end result.
