The largest student team of the Eindhoven University of Technology. We build electric and autonomous race cars!
Over ons
University Racing Eindhoven, URE for short, is the largest student project of the Eindhoven University of Technology. The URE team consists of 70 talented students, mostly coming from the faculties Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. Besides that, the team is complemented by interns from universities of applied sciences and several exchange students. The goal of the multidisciplinary team is to design, build, test and race an electric racecar in just one year. During summer the team competes in the international Formula Student competition, the biggest and most prestigious engineering competition worldwide. During these events the car and team are tested on design, quality and knowledge about the car. The students learn to work in a large team and to bring theory from their studies into practice. They are brought together by a passion for technology, which results in a faster, more efficient and more reliable racecar every year. Meet the board: Hi! I’m Jiri Beurskens, and I’m excited to take on the role of Testing Manager at URE this year. I’m 20 years old and currently pursuing my studies in Computer Science at Fontys after graduating from SintLucas. I joined the team last year in the Electronics & Software department, where I gained valuable practical experience with embedded systems. This challenge-driven environment inspired me, and I’m eager to continue growing in my new role. I can’t wait to tackle new challenges and contribute to building the URE19 alongside the team! #Eindhoven #TUEindhoven #EngineeringStudent #StudentTeam #RacingTeam #StudentFormula

Meet The Board: Hi! My name is Matthijs Nielen and I will be this year’s Electronics & Software and Autonomous Systems manager. I’m 22 years old, and currently studying Automotive Technology. Last year was my first year at the team where I spent my time on both the EV and driverless ECU. I really enjoy the applied nature of the challenges at URE. Being able to learn in a challenge based approach and combining this with practical skills have gotten me hooked onto the project. I really want to develop myself in the performance driven environment that is URE, while getting hands-on experience. Together with the team, I hope to deliver a great car this season! #Eindhoven #TUEindhoven #EngineeringStudent #StudentTeam #RacingTeam #StudentFormula

Meet The Board: Hi! I'm Simon Arends, and I'm thrilled to be the Accumulator and Vehicle Dynamics manager of URE this year. I'm 21 years old and I'm studying mechanical engineering. I joined the team during my second year to apply my engineering skills and gain practical experience. I decided to do a full-time board year to improve on both my hard and soft skills. Accumulator and vehicle dynamics are the perfect match as they offer multidisciplinary engineering challenges. I can't wait to overcome many challenges and create the URE19 together with the team! #Eindhoven #TUEindhoven #EngineeringStudent #StudentTeam #RacingTeam #StudentFormula
