We are excited to present our HeatFlex initiative supporting future-proof, heat-intensive process industries. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK), the Top Sectors of Chemistry and Energy, TKI Energy and Industry, UU, UT, TU/e, ISPT, TNO, TU Delft, and over 80 industrial partners. With this proposed first step, HeatFlex will drive and coordinate activities in partnership with EZK and the Top Sectors of Chemistry and Energy. These activities will include organization, industrial demonstrations, and essential R&D. Yesterday, part of the consortium gathered at a mini-symposium to discuss the next steps in this action-driven program. We look forward to working together to advance this critical initiative! Do you know anyone interested in contributing to industrial scale particle based modelling combined with machine learning? 👇
We are #hiring. Are you interested in a 4 year (paid) PhD position to bring DEM and metamodel based design to industrial scale? ⏳ Apply before 14 May. 💡 As a PhD in this project, you will develop metamodels that are fast enough to be used for design optimisation. The metamodels will be trained based on readily available validated DEM simulation models and enriched by operational equipment performance data. To this end, physics informed machine learning techniques will be used to bring model data and real data together in a Digital Twin. This Digital twin will enable integrated performance monitoring and metamodel-based design optimisation of bulk handling equipment and processing equipment involving granular materials.
