Ingenieur van het Jaar Pavlina Nanou is medeoprichter en COO bij TORWASH, een startup gericht op het circulair maken van diverse lastige afvalstromen. Pavlina houdt zich hier bezig met een technologie om slib van rioolwaterzuivering om te zetten in biobrand­stof, biogas en kunstmest. Thanks to the great cooperation with HydroBusiness, we were able to show that also industrial (food) wastewater treatment plants can become sludge-free, by turning sludge into circular products.

TORWASH kijkt anders naar afval. Ook "moeilijk" afval kan worden hergebruikt en als grondstof een belangrijke bijdrage leveren aan de energie- en materialentransitie.
