Thaki empowers refugee and vulnerable children, enabling them to learn and thrive through technology. By repurposing donated and used computer hardware, coupled with our edtech software, we deliver essential tools to schools in the Middle East. We’ve supported over 30,000 vulnerable children so far. Thaki stands for the rights of children in Gaza. According to the Norwegian Refugee Council, 80% of schools in Gaza have been damaged since October 2023. Targeting schools in conflict violates UN Security Council Resolution 1998. Gaza’s children urgently need safety, food, and shelter. Then, they need chances to unlock their potential through healing, and education. Everyday, we think of the children facing conflict and uncertainty all over the world and especially in Gaza. UNHCR reports that over 7 million refugee children are missing out on education. Together, we empower futures and bridge digital divides to create inspiring stories! Deloitte, the United Nations Global Compact Network Lebanon, and Thaki. Unlock their potential have established an ongoing collaboration to drive progress on #SDG4, Quality Education, through the Digital Youth Program by Deloitte. This collaboration aims to empower young minds by equipping educational institutions with repurposed laptops from Deloitte and top-tier curated educational content from Thaki. Unlock their potential, geared towards sustainability, and future-focused skills. Last month, our Founder and CEO, Rudayna Abdo, visited the Soof and Baqaa refugee camps in Jordan where Thaki is supporting students and teachers with the Teacher Digital Toolkit, in collaboration with I Learn Jo and Anera. Each group of students has completed the TDT modules, totaling 40 hours spent learning with Thaki’s resources and enjoying free access to our laptops throughout the day. It was truly inspiring to celebrate their achievements during the graduation ceremony and witness how the program has empowered and enriched them. “They kept asking me during the week when we would have the Nour session again.” Nour's World, is our new digital program created in collaboration with TNO, the Dutch innovation and research institute, designed to assist children in navigating their emotions. Amal Al Ashkar, who helped implementing the program at Malaak, recently shared her positive feedback, showcasing the program's profound impact. With childhood trauma being so prevalent around the world, it's crucial to find effective solutions.
