Last night was our first - by invitation only - TEDxAW Conversations of 2024. Theme: Back-to-Work - on durable reintegration after stepping out of the workforce Our incredible panel speakers Roos Veldhuijzen van Zanten - Haasnoot, Charlotte Kerkhofs, Eugenie Nunes and Anthony Seger (He/Him) shared valuable insights on supporting returning professionals and challenging the myths surrounding career breaks. Their perspectives on resilience, effective HR strategies, legal frameworks and conscious business practices truly inspired us all. The discussion was lively and a safe space was created where everyone could share their opinions and actively participate in the discussion, thanks to our incredible moderator and TEDx speaker coach Natascha Jacobsz. Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to the conversation. Big shout out to Sircle Collection, Sir Adam hotels and Kristel Anna Frich for your support. Over ons
In December 2010, Amsterdam hosted one of the first TEDxWomen-events in the world. TEDxWomen is a global conference that provides a stage for women to inspire; it specifically focuses on the unique way in which women contribute to global change and thus helps to reshape the future. In the Netherlands, a large group of professional volunteers dedicate their time and energy to set up this event, acting as personal ambassadors for change and innovation. Since the first event in 2010, TEDxAmsterdamWomen has annually produced and delivered a stunning and inspiring conference, bringing forth well-known and critically acclaimed speakers such as Mei Lin Ang, Steve McCurry, Mariéme Jamme, Harriette Verweij, Naomi Feil, Sarah Britton, Corrine Vigreux, Olivia Bee, Lex Peters, Kelly Cutrone, Paul Zak, Marieke Eyskoot, Bénédicte Ficq and Lauren Zander. TEDxAmsterdamWomen events are not subsidized and are run on the enthusiasm of our sponsors and volunteers.

Last week was our Talent Night. Our year theme: Let’s celebrate 🎉. 10 finalists, 1 winner. We believe these 10 incredible humans are all winners! Let us elaborate on their story, starting with our winner Saraab. 🎉 Saraab Alfar - The winner of the night, who taught us all some value leadership lessons we could all learn from bees with her 'BEE-coming brilliant' speech. 🎉 Ola Helal - A powerful and moving story about her life and the reason why she started working in cybersecurity in the first place and she highlighted the need for more women. 🎉 Karen Wessels - While listening to her story we could hear a pin drop in the audience. Everyone was so moved by her heartbreaking story of losing her daughter through suicide and how it made her decide to make it her mission in life to help others to see the signs before it is too late. 🎉 Jo Sarah - She talked about the 'Orgasm Gap' and wanted to empower and teach us the importance of good sexual education and body awareness for women from all backgrounds promoting her connect, learn and share program. 🎉 Alice Ramsay 🤩✨- She shared her life lessons from the Dutch bike path and the things she herself has learned from the daily connections she made with people while driving her bike and that we should all enjoy and love the simple activities in life. 🎉 Meinke van Oenen - She addressed huge environmental issues by showing us not to rely only on technology when looking for solutions, but just to go look around and look for nature to help us out. The solutions are out there! 🎉 ☀️ Jessica J.J. Lutz ☀️ - She showed the audience the difference between the WE-mind and the ME-mind and she asked us all to embrace them both for a more inclusive society. 🎉 Piet Broenland -'We are all human', he said. Showed us with his own emotional and personal story what biases and prejudices do with us and how he is helping others like him now to change their lives for the better. 🎉 Sandra Chaudron - A strong single mother and balloon artist that showed us how 'Magic Thinking' can change you from feeling a failure to feeling successful and happy. 🎉Willemien de Vogel - van Musschenbroek Greve 🌱 - She showed us that we need to reconnect with nature and start with ourselves and our children, showing us the animals and wonders living in our own backyards and all around us. Thank you to all 10. You were amazing! 📸 Photographer Daria Nelina
