🦄 Start-ups from Limburg let’s unite and make global impact! Last week we attended the Brightlands Startup League event, brilliantly organized by our partners at Brightlands, LIOF, Maastricht University and Provincie Limburg. 🚀 Our envoy Constantijn Van Oranje-Nassau called upon all ecosystem parties to remove barriers and help start-ups scale as efficiently as possible. This was followed by a #techtransfer masterclass by Peter Maarten Westerhout, Arjan Goudsblom and Christian van der Woude. Scaling deeptech from scientific innovation to impact is a #long #bumpy #road, and many choices have to be made in the early phases and have a huge impact on the scalability later on. 📣 To get there, we call upon all ecosystems to implement these #three #points to create a good foundation for valorisation: ✔️ Making sure to adopt a standardized version of dealterms 🌐https://lnkd.in/d4DnS2ud; ✔️Providing sufficient long-term risk capital for deeptech innovations, especially for first-of-a-kind facilities. ✔️ Stimulating a career pathway in academia to become an entrepreneur. 💡 With events such as this at the Brightlands campus, we want to make founders, investors and supporters aware of what awaits them and provide #guidance on how to deal with that. ❗Tomorrow is today❗ Hoe gaan we als Nederland het verschil maken? Nederlandse tech startups en scale-ups vormen de motor van innovatie en groei. Het Regeerakkoord erkent het belang van groei voor startups en scale-ups, maar daadkracht is nu essentieel. Stabiel (fiscaal) beleid is een goed begin, maar er is meer nodig om de ambities te realiseren en de kloof tussen plannen en uitvoering te dichten. Hoewel er veel goeds wordt gezegd door het kabinet, zit er nog wel afstand tussen de gestelde ambities, de concrete invulling daarvan, voldoende budget en het ontbreken van een lange termijn visie. De uitdagingen zijn groot, maar de kansen nog groter: 🚀 Startups en scale-ups spelen een sleutelrol van de transities in sectoren zoals zorg, energie, digitalisering en landbouw. Hun groei en impact moeten centraal staan bij besprekingen over de lange termijn van ons ondernemingsklimaat. 📈De fiscale regeling voor medewerkersparticipatie biedt een kans om talent aan te trekken en te behouden. Een concurrerend tarief kan hier een grote impact maken. De plannen liggen uitgewerkt op tafel, meer onderzoek is niet nodig - wel een besluit. 👩💻 Het behoud van de expatregeling is cruciaal om internationaal talent naar Nederland te halen en te behouden. Nu is de versobering minder dan eerder gepland, maar hoelang houdt dit stand? Zekerheid hierover is bepalend voor het succes van de regeling en dus het aantrekken en behouden van internationaal talent in Nederland.
