🚀 Meet Joan Clarke, the code-breaker that saved countless lives during WW2! 📚 Joan Clarke's (1917-1996) long-lasting passion for science lead her to obtain her mathematics degree, which propelled her into the world of tech. Just before the start of WW2, she was recruited to the Government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS), which aimed to break the German Enigma Code. 🌈 Despite the challenges she faced at the time, such as being the only woman working in the code-breaking center, Joan rose to deputy head of Hut 8, and would be its longest-serving member. 💡 Did you know? 🚨 Global Gender Gap Report 2024: Urgent Call to Action 🚨 The latest report highlights a concerning stagnation in the emancipation of women in the Netherlands, which remains at the 28th position for the third year in a row. Globally, slight improvements have been noted, but at this rate, it will take 134 years to close the gender gap. Key Findings: 📉 The Netherlands has closed 77.5% of the gender gap, down 0.2% from last year. 📊 Significant disparities remain in economic participation and leadership roles. 🌍 Global improvements in education and healthcare are encouraging but insufficient. Reading this report is a stark reminder that we have much work to do. It’s disheartening to see such slow progress in a country with so many well-qualified and educated women. The data clearly shows that systematic and cultural obstacles continue to hinder women’s advancement.
