Last week at #COP16Colombia for Biodiversity, we had a special working session between FOLU Brazil and FOLU Colombia, our food systems coalitions. Systemiq Ltd. Brazil lead Patricia Ellen da Silva had the honor of moderating a panel on the future of regenerative agriculture in Latin America, alongside leaders such as Fabrício Muriana (Instituto Regenera), Karina Gonçalves David (Instituto Brasil Orgânico), Juliana Lopes (Conselho Empresarial Brasileiro para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável (CEBDS), and Roberto Silva Waack. Together, we explored how regenerative agriculture can drive environmental restoration, reduce carbon emissions, strengthen local communities, and contribute to a more resilient economy. The discussion highlighted the need for an integrated approach across Latin America, where energy transition must go hand in hand with agroecology and sustainable land use. Bioenergy, including sustainable aviation fuel, was discussed as a significant opportunity for Brazil and the region.   With an agenda that brings together energy transition, sustainable agricultural production, and environmental preservation, we are working to position Brazil and Latin America as global leaders in creating a sustainable and inclusive bioeconomy, delivering both economic and environmental benefits for the entire region. Our Brazil Partner Patricia Ellen da Silva represented Systemiq Ltd. at COP16 in Cali, Colombia, where she contributed to essential discussions on integrating biodiversity, bioeconomy, and climate action for a sustainable future. At the beginning of the #COP16 agenda, Patricia joined a dialogue led by Razan Al Mubarak, High-Level Climate Champions, focused on connecting biodiversity and climate finance to support the bioeconomy and nature conservation. This session offered a valuable opportunity to discuss concrete projects and engage with dedicated leaders from Brazil, Colombia, and beyond.   In another key event, Patricia moderated the panel “Ensuring a Nature-Positive Future Through a Sustainable Bioeconomy,” facilitating discussions with Luiza Sidonio Rodrigues from Brazil’s Ministry of Finance. Together, they explored Brazil’s strides in ecological transformation, highlighting the critical role of bioeconomy sectors such as food production and bioenergy. The conversation underscored the importance of aligning sustainable growth with biodiversity preservation and environmental protection.   Finally, Patricia participated in the dialogue “Making Peace Between Food and Nature” at the Nature Positive Initiative Pavilion. As part of the Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) , alongside partners like WWF and Climate Focus, this session aimed to promote the integration of food systems within biodiversity strategies, marking a significant milestone in global efforts to transform food systems.   This dialogue is essential for advancing toward a bioeconomy that fosters economic development while preserving biodiversity and contributing to a fair and resilient transition to a low-carbon economy. #COP16 #bioeconomy #sustainability #sustainabledevelopment #biodiversity

The B20 plays a vital role in bringing together global business leaders to propose solutions for the economic and climate challenges we face. As the official G20 engagement forum, it serves as a powerful platform to drive concrete actions toward global sustainability and economic development. Last week, Systemiq was proud to be part of the #B20SummitBrazil, where our Partner Patricia Ellen da Silva moderated the panel, "Driving the Future Towards a Just Net-Zero Transition." Joined by prominent leaders such as Jean-Pierre Clamadieu - (ENGIE), Leticia Andrade - (Equinor), Musaab Almulla - (aramco), and Ambassador Patricia Espinosa Cantellano, the discussion centred on decarbonising the global economy while ensuring industry resilience and competitiveness.
