[Project No. 274 De Nieuwe Meer 2] A new power station will be built in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. A future-proof electricity network is essential for all developments in Amsterdam which is growing, digitalizing, and becoming more sustainable at a rapid pace. It isn't easy to represent the functional aspects of a power station in an architectural model. Still, instead, it is possible to describe its environmental adaptability as a building to the fullest extent. We do this by adding greenery and using natural textures. The model is currently displayed at Stadsloket Nieuw-West. scale. 1:300 / client. Gemeente Amsterdam /architect. Witteveen Bos / 95 x 91 x 6cm / 2024

[Project No. 278 Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder Church] Children with visual impairments experienced the church through an architectural model. The Catholic Church was built in the attic of the canal house during the 1660s because it was prohibited to celebrate mass in the seventeenth century. We have produced a model of the whole building, but this time we have produced a tactile model of its church section. This was part of an educational program for children with visual impairments, allowing the children to touch and experience the space inside the church. We will continue to produce tactile models from time to time. It would be good if there were models that could be touched like this in any museum so that everyone could experience the space. scale. 1:40, 1:15 / client. [Project No.036 Foodcenter Amsterdam]A model for redeveloping Amsterdam's food wholesale market. The monumental Central Market Hall will be completely renovated and commercial and residential areas will be developed around it. This was created 12 years ago. Nowadays, it becomes a bit easier to process with high precision using 3d printers and laser cutting, but back then, each piece of cardboard was carefully cut by hand. scale. 1:200 / client. [Project No.185 New Babylon] We produced the model transparent to look inside of structures and ideas. Our model is now present in Van Eesteren Museum Amsterdam . It's a case study project that examines the future revitalization of postwar neighbourhoods, particularly Lodewijk van Deysselstraat. In this project, the ladder symbolizes 'transition and movement', 'freedom and movement' and 'vertical mobility'. The placement of the ladder in a space unobstructed by walls makes the model as conceptual as it can be. scale. 1:500 / architect. urbanberry-design , URBAN ECHOES / 42 x 29 x 6cm / 2019

Studio KU heeft dit gerepost
We are thrilled to have collaborated with Studio KU on the physical model for our Hyperloop Station Schiphol design! The model's exceptional finish and meticulous attention to detail perfectly capture our vision. Working with KU has been an amazing experience! Their passion, skill, and professionalism truly elevate their craftsmanship to an art form. The design of our station consists of multiple levels: logistics, departure and arrival. Despite the station's density, Studio KU managed to show all three levels perfectly in relation to each other. This helps people to truly understand how our station works. Stay tuned for more updates as we look forward to showcasing this model in upcoming events! #DelftHyperloop #Hyperloop #KU #futuretransport #innovation #collaboration

[Project No.06 De Autarc] It is a model for an innovative floating exhibition space. The name ‘Autarc' comes from autarchy, meaning self-sufficiency; it is fully self-powering. "The ark must be able to function separately from the electricity grid, separately from the water pipe, separately from the sewer and separately from the gas network. The boat generates its own energy through a roof consisting of solar panels and pipes for solar boilers and stores it in batteries or even hydrogen cells. Water is cleaned from the place where the boat is moored and purified and discharged after use." - Paul de Ruiter In addition to the functional aspects featured in this model, the impression is enhanced by using wood for the louvers. scale. 1:25 / architect. The audio-tactile model of the Rijksmuseum was unveiled for a selected group by Stichting Geluid in Zicht and the Rijksmuseum itself. Geluid in Zicht together with Laura Ubachs (Equinox Architecture) have been working on the project over the past few years to developed this model for low vision visitors of the museum. And Studio KU joined for the realization process to finalize it. A grand unveiling will follow later, but you can explore the model in the Rijksmuseum from today. With thanks to Hannes Wallrafen (initiator), Laura Ubachs (architect), Robert Bosch (audio technology), Cathelijne Denekamp (accessibility of the Rijksmuseum), Morris Adams (Hannes' right hand) and Bartiméus Fonds (financing).
