STIL is at the DGN Service GmbH (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Neurologie) Kongress in Berlin. We’re here to connect with German neurologists, sharing how the STIL Orthosis can help people with tremors to regain their independence. It’s been inspiring to see so much interest in our approach and to discuss how our orthosis can support those living with tremor. Are you attending the DGN Kongress and interested in learning more? Stabilizing the hands of people with tremors
Over ons
A tremor is an involuntary shake in the limbs. Over 30 million people worldwide with Parkinson’s Disease, essential tremor and other tremor disorders have trouble in daily life due to tremors. Even though a tremor itself is harmless, it causes serious difficulties with activities in daily life, such as eating and drinking. Up to this day there is no cure and current treatment to suppress tremor either is ineffective, or very invasive. STIL developed a new treatment for tremors: the STIL orthosis. We integrated a specialized damping technology in an orthosis, that suppressed the shakes, but still allows all voluntary movement. In this way, our medical device provides instant relief.

🖐Meet Nico. He loves to draw, has parrots as pets, and enjoys sitting on a terrace with his children and grandchildren. Trembling hands made these hobbies increasingly difficult. Spilled coffee and flying burgers may have brought laughter to his grandchildren, but for Nico, it was a source of frustration. With the STIL Orthosis, he feels confident eating out again: "I even dare to drink a cup of coffee," he told us. And just as important: he’s not so frustrated anymore! 📽 Check out Nico's full story on our website: https://lnkd.in/e8DrqX2p #STILOrthosis #PatientStories #Testimonial

🚀 Team STIL is growing – Meet our interns of this fall! We're excited to introduce you to our interns of this season (from left to right): 💠 Zoe Centeno Sanz, following a Mechanical Engineering master's with a focus on Biomechanical Design, is supporting our R&D efforts. When she’s not working on orthosis design, you’ll find her in the mountains or diving into a good novel. 💠 Susana Fernandes, studying Biomedical Engineering with a focus on medical devices, is contributing her skills to our clinical research team. Outside of her studies, she enjoys cooking, long walks, volleyball, and exploring different cultures. 💠 Kristof Russmann is joining our AI team for the next 9 months, after completing his master’s in Information Systems in Nuremberg this summer. A fan of road bike tours and great meals, Kristof is ready to dive into the world of AI and orthoses. 💠 Juan Pablo Alvarez Romero is also strengthening our R&D team. He’s pursuing a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in medical devices at TU Delft. Passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life through orthoses and prostheses, Juan Pablo fits in great at STIL. Welcome to the STIL family – we’re excited to achieve great things together! 🌟 #TeamGrowth #ClinicalResearch #AI #STILOrthosis #TremorSupport

🎶 Meet Henk. Every day, he and his wife share a special moment: making music together. It's the highlight of their day. When the tremor in Henk's hands put this beloved hobby at risk, they feared they might have to give it up. Now with a STIL Orthosis for each arm, they’re back to making music together every day. We were welcomed into their home to make a video about Henk's story. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/e8DrqX2p. A big thanks to Henk and his wife for inviting us and sharing their story! #Tremor #STILOrthosis #Empowerment #AssistiveTechnology

🌎 Last weekend, STIL attended the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) Assembly in Charlotte, and what an experience it was! Despite a slightly rocky start - thanks to our carefully designed booth being stuck in customs - team STIL pulled through with some creative last-minute booth building. In the end, we had a great time connecting with professionals and gaining valuable insights, particularly on how to navigate our expansion into the US market. It was great to see so many positive reactions to our orthosis from US specialists in the field. We’re looking forward to empowering more and more people worldwide living with tremor. Lots of exciting things on the horizon!

Our legs are still aching, but we had an amazing time at Bike voor Parkinson! Together with all the other participants, we raised an incredible €326,752 🙌 A huge thank you to everyone who supported this cause for Parkinson's and Parkinsonism research and awareness. One of our donators shared something that truly moved us: "Staying in control of your own life with Parkinson's makes all the difference. Your product contributes to that. Amazing!" We are honored that our orthosis can make such an impact. We'll continue working hard to empower those living with tremors and help them maintain or regain independence. 💪 #ParkinsonsAwareness #Tremor #STIL #STILOrthosis
