If we die alone, what do we expect to happen to our bodies? Cities across the globe are challenged by the phenomenon of residents dying unnoticed and dead remaining unclaimed by next of kin. Acid Clouds. Book Presentation at SPUI25. 10 October 2024. How can we rethink the ownership and control of data? And in what ways do data centres influence our identities and societal norms? In the book launch of 'Acid Clouds: Mapping Data Centre Topologies' we will examine data centres through different lenses, from artifical intelligence to machine learning and from environmental impact to digital capitalism. How can we critically engage with the hidden yet pervasive infrastructures that shape our world? Editors Niels Schrader and Jorinde B. Seijdel will tell you more about the background and context of 'Acid Clouds': what do the different lenses, essays and nighttime photography of Roel Backaert tell us about the infrastructures and consequences of data centres? Afterwards media theorist Geert Lovink and Archival and Information expert annet dekker will talk about the data centre topologies from their own specialisations. De Anti-Fake News-Blog onthult de strategieën van extremisten en complottheoretici en legt hun desinformatiecampagnes bloot, soms met een vleugje humor, maar altijd op feiten gebaseerd. Léonie de Jonge bestudeert als politicoloog de opkomst en normalisatie van radicaal- en extreemrechts. Ze is geïnteresseerd in waarom rechts-populistische partijen in sommige landen en regio's succesvoller zijn dan in andere. Léonie is universitair docent European Politics and Society aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. De Duits-Nederlandse band Deuba brengt enkele Duitse protestliederen ten gehore.
