Yes! We finally get to share it with you. A few months ago, the crew of #PatsBoemKledder! visited our factory. Now it's finally here! Toddlers in the Netherlands (and you too) can enjoy watching how we turn old textiles into new yarns and products. The broadcast will be on Monday morning, June 24 at 07:45 at NTR on NPO Zappelin. So watch it! Of course, you can also watch episode 86 and the other episodes later on via: https://lnkd.in/eWfQsABK

Spinning Jenny ontwikkelt hoogwaardige, duurzame garens voor veeleisende toepassing.
Over ons

We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with G-Star RAW to produce a one-of-a kind Dutch Cotton denim jeans!👖🌱 A unique production process where we collaborated with Dutch partners to realize this innovation. From field to fabric, every step of the cotton production process happened right here in the Netherlands. After harvesting at Wageningen University & Research , a small batch of Dutch Cotton with a unique fiber quality was delivered at our spinning mill in Nijverdal. Our dedicated team processed this batch into a 100% Dutch Cotton yarn.🧵🇳🇱 A real challenge considering the quantities. In the end, we produced around 12 KGs of yarn. This was quite the challenge and an ultimate test of craftsmanship. With our state-of-the-art machinery and our dedicated team of experts, we made it happen. An impressive high-quality 100% Dutch Cotton yarn! The yarn was then plied at Artofil in Brabant and woven by Enschede Textielstad in Enschede. The result? A beautiful and unique pair of denim made entirely from Dutch Cotton. Want to know more about this impressive innovation? Visit gstar.com/homegrown-denim
I'm excited to announce our latest breakthrough in revolutionizing cotton cultivation and localizing the global denim supply chain: Greenhouse-Grown Cotton. Being deeply involved in every step of this journey - from sowing, flowering, and boll development to harvest and production - has been incredibly rewarding. Witnessing the entire process firsthand has enhanced my appreciation for cotton and the beauty of nature's cycles. What makes greenhouse cultivation truly special is the possibility to cultivate in a controlled environment. This method offers great potential to reduce the impact on land and water use while supporting biodiversity. There's something truly captivating about cotton, but our goal went beyond simply growing it. We aimed to transform the cotton into a pair of jeans within a local supply chain. We successfully completed the entire process—ginning, spinning, weaving, sewing, dyeing, and finishing in the Netherlands. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of the G-Star RAW team, Filip van Noort (Wageningen University & Research), Victor Sandberg (Dutch Cotton), Paula Gerritsen, Liset Pander (Spinning Jenny) , Annemieke Koster (Enschede Textielstad) and Celia Geraedts (Blueprint Amsterdam. Thank you for your true dedication and support in making this vision a reality. Also looking forward to the next steps and collaboration with Robert Duijvestijn (Coöperatie Inno Growers U.A.) and Joyce Rasquin (Grodan). It has been truly amazing to work with so many talented people. This industry is built on a foundation of knowledge, passion and dedication. We must dare to be bold and believe in our ability to transform - Together we can make a difference.

Happy to be part of the TEXPOWER consortium. ♻️👕
The TEXPOWER project can start 👕 🎉 The TEXPOWER project (Textile Polycotton Waste Evaluation and Recycling) has been granted by RVO. This project was submitted as part of the National Growth Fund Circular Plastics NL call. TEXPOWER was created in collaboration with 9 circular chain partners, consisting of both large and SME companies and knowledge institutions: CELLiCON, DPI - Shaping polymer innovation (as coordinator and on behalf of CPI, together with ISPT - Institute for Sustainable Process Technology), Enschede Textielstad, Frankenhuis Textielrecycling, KringCoop, de kringloop coöperatie , SaXcell, Hogeschool Saxion, Spinning Jenny and Textile Fiber Boost. Over the next 5 years we will work on this project with a total budget of €9.0M. What is the goal? #Polycotton is one of the most common textile types in both clothing and interior textiles. Together we try to build a transparent, circular polycotton textile value chain. This chain will be implemented for the future-proof earning capacity of the Netherlands. We achieve this goal by developing: · Accurate, innovative and efficient identification, sorting and data processing techniques · Interfering substance removal techniques · Mechanical and chemical recycling techniques of polycotton. This way we achieve fiber-to-fiber recycling. The high-quality raw materials are spun into polycotton yarns, which can be woven into functional textiles for work clothing, for example. In addition to the 9 partners mentioned, various 3rd parties are involved to apply their knowledge and innovative technologies. Together we realize a stable, functional circular chain. ♻️ #texpower #recycling #textilevaluechain #circularity
