Her key takeaway was learning a new technique for producing latrine rings from the innovative Mrs Horl Tim, a leap forward in addressing labour challenges back home 🛠️🔄. 🌟 Nourishing minds: Transforming school nutrition 🌟 The School Milk Programme, introduced by SNV in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Sports, has profoundly impacted Kitunga Boarding Primary School and beyond. 🏫🌍 Musinguzi Herbert, headteacher of Kitunga Boarding Primary School, shared how the programme has revolutionised their approach to student nutrition. The school has procured essential materials for boiling milk, established a school kitchen, and acquired milk testing equipment to ensure high-quality nutrition. These changes have significantly improved the school's ability to provide nutritious meals, leading to numerous positive outcomes: 📈 Increased pupil enrolment from 788 to 1,484. 📚 Improved student health, reducing absenteeism and enhancing concentration in classes. 🏆 Enhanced academic performance. Across Uganda, the School Milk Programme is active in 2,482 schools, benefiting over 922,779 children daily. 🌍 Transforming Uganda's dairy sector 🐄   The TIDE project is driving #SystemsTransformation in Uganda’s dairy sector. Recognised for its impact on food security and nutrition, dairy is crucial to Uganda’s agro-industrialisation agenda.   Since 2015, TIDE has collaborated with the government and partners to enhance the livelihoods of over 21,800 farmers across six districts. 🌍 Empowering communities with clean cooking solutions: The inspiring journey of Him Bunheng 🌍 Meet Him Bunheng from Baseth District, Kampong Speu province, who has transformed his community with clean cooking energy products. Since collaborating with the Higher Tier Cooking Component (HTCC) project in 2023, his business has expanded significantly, reaching 24 additional branches! 🚀 Here are some of the steps he took: ✅ Conducted village-to-village campaigns and developed new marketing strategies. ✅ Overcame challenges like unreliable electricity and initial resistance from villagers. ✅ Strengthened local connections and built strong relationships with village chiefs and authorities. Despite hurdles, Bunheng's perseverance has made him a role model. He continues to promote clean cooking and sustainable energy, sharing his journey and advice with others.
