A big thanks to our office manager Kim Luitjes and UYUNI Incentive Travels for planning this unforgettable trip!

Time for a short story from the trenches 🔎 As a consultant, you sometimes stumble upon a nasty dormant issue, that never surfaced until the moment you restart a certain service. In this short story, Nidhi shares how she debugged a nasty issue with #prometheus and #thanos. The system was running just fine until the moment Prometheus got restarted. Spoiler alert: sometimes Stackoverflow and Google skills are not enough, you need to dig way deeper 🙈

Say hello to Amr, our newest addition to the team! Before joining Skyworkz, Amr proved himself to be versatile in different fields of engineering. One of the highlights was his time as a water technology engineer, where he built containerised water treatment solutions. Fast forward to today, Amr is focused on building containerised applications that run on Kubernetes in the cloud. Get to know Amr better by watching his video below!

Our top picks from KubeCon 2024, Paris: 1. Knative - a high-level abstraction for E2E application and function deployment on K8s. Reduces deployment overhead for developers. Scales to zero and provides progressive rollouts. https://lnkd.in/ec-7BeDG 2. LLMNETES - AI based cluster management with a natural language interface. Under development; looks promising. https://lnkd.in/eWsKFn9Y 3. KCP - a framework for building platforms on K8s. Provides constructs to build, manage and use platforms based on separation of concerns - personas/roles include platform owners, service providers and end-users. https://lnkd.in/e2QayPMj Were you at KubeCon 2024 in Paris and which talks did you find interesting? #kubecon #kubecon2024 #cloudnative #devops #cloudengineers

At Blipz on the Radar, we asked partners and community members what they think about the risk of closed standards and how open standards like the CNCF projects can help you innovate without selling your soul to tech giants. What are your thoughts? and what is your strategy to limit vendor lock-in? Leave a note below!
Are companies held hostage by greedy tech companies who force them to use proprietary standards?

Open standards ensure there is a fair and equal access to technology - Alessandro Vozza, CNCF ambassador Two weeks ago Ryan Susana posted what is bothering him: companies that completely depend on closed/proprietary tech for cross-cutting concerns. We asked Alessandro and our own Maarten Dirkse during the Blipz on the Radar conference to share their opinion on this statement, and their answers might suprise you! What do you think, do you see a danger in depending on proprietary standards? Leave your comment below! #opinion #openstandards #cncf #cloud

Last year we collaborated with Goldfizh digital agency to give our corporate identity a refresh. What started with a sticky session has led to a new look and feel for both our logo and website. But most importantly, it matches our culture, our values and our identity: 🔗 We connect people, processes and technology together to build new bridges, break down silos and create flow within organisations. 🔎 We are curious: we always try to understand the bigger picture. The why behind questions. The root cause of outage. To quote Covey, we seek first to understand, then to be understood. Only then we can make real impact. 💪 We are courageous: we are not afraid to speak our mind. We do ask the difficult questions when needed. We like to be thrown in the deep and solve hard problems. 🔨 We are craftsmen. We are hands-on and we like to stay hands-on, no matter what. We are able to fill in roles in architecture, coaching and management, but staying in touch with technology is important to us. Over the next couple of months we will share our opinions on Linkedin. We will introduce our consultants individually, publish provocative videos, share valuable insights and more. Stay tuned!
