This is a great headline to read today from London Stadium Mayor of London Ameresco and incredibly encouraging for the live events industry. Yes we need all stadiums to have direct access to renewable energy. It makes our job to provide emissions-free power for artists and events so much easier. However it is worth noting that it is only the beginning for events and artists to have access to an "in-house" renewable energy source. For this source to be fully utilised, any touring artist or event production team will need to be fully trusting that the source is 100% reliable. Global Citizen Festival 2024 is a wrap! We're on our way home and our #SmartGrid system is on its way back to Chicago for some tlc. Batteries need love too 🔋 💚 🔋 But its not just the battery system and software that is essential for this exciting sustainable transition. It's also the power experts. Alongside bringing clean energy solutions to the event industry, Showpower's mission is to also raise awareness of what is going on behind the scenes, especially within temporary event power, to inspire a new generation of technicians, production specialists and event experts. These technical masterminds are the foundation of every single event. And their work is tough. Tough conditions, tough hours, tough locations and physical challenges to face. So we need good working conditions for a sustainable future, not just sustainable power. FIFA FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico and the United States just announced that Global Citizen will be producing the Super Bowl-style halftime show for the World Cup Final starting in 2026. Gianni Infantino dropped by the SmartGrid system just before the announcement.
