He described his first month as, “A whirlwind of new things and new places”. He had a few fears regarding this journey “Would my working experience count for anything, could I adapt, can I learn new ways, will I fit in?”, but got a pleasant surprise when he experienced a very smooth transition in the Netherlands! He even described his transition to be as smooth as plaas (farm) butter! “It's not all fun and games”, Janus mentioned. He said that it is a big challenge to move your whole life in two checked bags to start all over in a new country. We gave her a warm welcome at the hotel. "I was worried about getting around in the Netherlands but it turned out super well." She bought a bike 🚲 for €25 on Marketplace and found public transport user-friendly. Coming from South Africa, she appreciated feeling safe, even when biking at night. She loves her respectful and calming work environment, which reduced her stress levels. 👏 She thanked Sempre Technology for making everything run smoothly, from setting up a bank account to picking up her residence permit. From the moment he stepped off the plane, he was full of excitement. "My arrival experience was really fun and exciting! I've never traveled to any European country by myself, so it was definitely something amazing to experience," he said. "The thing I worried most about was the culture and language differences. Though people here are so friendly and are more than happy to speak to you in English to be able to help you in any way that they can," he reflects, feeling grateful for the welcoming vibe. "Eindhoven has been such a wonderful place to live in so far. Everything seems like a bike ride or walking distance away. So get yourself a reliable bike, and you'll have endless adventures around the city!" he advises. 🚴♂️ But what truly captivates Keegan is the people. "I love the people the most so far. He's enthusiastic about immersing himself in both his work environment and his new living situation. Dominic believes in taking the leap first and figuring out the details later, as he expressed, "When deciding whether or not to move to the Netherlands, do it first and then figure out how later, the agency is there to help, you just have to make the first step and make an effort." 🧡 Dominic particularly admires the Dutch culture's approach to family dynamics and equality, stating, "If I have to choose one thing I like about the Netherlands it must be their culture around family dynamics and how they understand everyone is different, and treat people equally."
