In the next post about the upcoming NIS2 directive we talk about the need for incident response to follow NIS2. It's also a recommended read when you don't need to comply with NIS2 as doing incident response right, is in our opinion very important for all companies of all sizes, regardless of NIS2! https://lnkd.in/efJGrtgd

👮♀ #Spyware found in the Apple App store - Is it ethically justified... Picture this: it's a typical Friday night at SecDesk headquarters – the smell of pizza in the air, a TV show about bringing scammers to justice blaring in the background, and a bunch of nerds (us) debating cybersecurity over drinks. Little did we know, this seemingly casual evening would lead us down a rabbit hole of ethical quandaries and digital detective work. As we watched the show, we couldn't help but wonder: how do they catch these scammers? Cue a lightbulb moment – what if there's more to the story? Enter some late-night sleuthing and a dash of curiosity, and suddenly we find ourselves delving into the world of a company aiding the TV show's producers in their scam-busting endeavours. Now, here's where things take a turn. Instead of just marveling at the on-screen drama, we stumble upon a series of fake apps designed to lure in scammers. Talk about a plot twist! But as the night wears on and the pizza disappears, so too does our sense of amusement. What started as a lighthearted evening has morphed into a serious ethical dilemma. These apps, crafted by a company with ties to the TV show creators, raise some serious questions. Sure, nabbing scammers sounds like a noble cause, but at what cost? What about the unsuspecting users who might download these apps, unaware of their true purpose? We're torn between our desire for justice and our commitment to ethical cybersecurity practices. On one hand, we understand the satisfaction of seeing scammers get justice. On the other, we can't ignore the potential privacy infringements and unintended consequences. Let's not forget the legal gray area we find ourselves tiptoeing through. Are these apps even allowed on platforms like the Apple App Store? It's a question that leaves us scratching our heads and reaching for another slice of pizza. But enough about us – we want to hear from you, our fellow cyber enthusiasts. What's your take on this wild ride? Should companies be playing vigilante in the digital world, or is it time to leave the crime-fighting to the professionals? So grab a slice, settle in, and let's unravel this mystery together. After all, when nerds, pizza, and TV shows collide, anything can happen – even a serious conversation about cybersecurity ethics. #Vote below
