Just like in a regular soccer match, our robots sometimes collide during a game. That’s why it's crucial for them to be strong, reliable, and resilient to impacts. Additionally, weight plays a key role in ensuring good grip on the field. A huge thank you to MCM Marknesse for crafting most of the metal frame for our robots. This includes a sturdy bottom plate to absorb impacts during collisions, secure motor mounts to keep everything in place, and a robust plunger for kicking the ball with precision. #RoboTeamTwente #Innovation #RoboticsRevolution #FutureTech #mcm #utwente

Recap of the Technical Challenge at RoboCup 2024 Eindhoven We are excited to announce that we secured third place in the RoboCup 2024 Team vs. Team Passing Challenge! In addition to the regular matches, RoboCup features technical challenges that highlight the seamless integration of software and hardware, crucial for a dynamic and collaborative soccer match. This year’s challenge involved a challenge where two teams competed to make as many passes as possible. To make a pass, you first need to steal the ball from the opponent. This format encourages teams to focus on precision and teamwork, promoting advancements in passing accuracy and overall gameplay strategy. Since this challenge was played on a smaller field, we did not encounter the technical difficulties we faced in the matches. We proudly finished third, just behind Tigers Mannheim and ZJUNlict, the top two teams from last year. It was gratifying to see our efforts develop into such a positive result.

Recap of the Second Match Day at RoboCup 2024 Eindhoven Following the first match day, we had extensive repairs to complete. After a long night assessing the impact of the repairs, we reduced our top speed and acceleration. We faced off against Immortals in a long battle, ultimately losing 0-4. This match marked our final game of the tournament. Even though we didn't make it to the knock-out phase, multiple teams saw all the improvements we made this year, and we are proud of that. On a final note, two of our former team members, Emy Ganzeboom and Emiel Steerneman, were elected to the Organization Committee and Technical Committee for next year’s RoboCup. Congratulations to them!

Recap of the First Match Day at RoboCup 2024 Eindhoven We kicked off the day with a match against the current world champions, Tigers Mannheim. Unfortunately, we encountered unexpected hardware issues that only manifested on larger fields, which we hadn't been able to test beforehand. This led to our robots gradually dropping out, resulting in a 10-0 loss. Determined to bounce back, we immediately started addressing our technical difficulties. We had to reassemble over half of our robots before our next match against RoboDragons. Additionally, we experienced a significant reduction in our top speed and acceleration. Thanks to some outstanding teamwork, we managed to complete the necessary fixes just in time. However, as these were only temporary solutions, our robots began to drop out again during the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
