The policy process underlying the #CSDDD has not been without its stumbling blocks. While adopting legislation in a twenty-seven-counterpart setting may require some additional compromise in the best of circumstances, the CSDDD has also been the target of some of the most flagrant examples of corporate lobbying and political gaming seen in the Brussels-sphere. This position paper illuminates the developments surrounding the CSDDD post-trilogue and sketches the next steps to be taken by institutions in the policy process in order to get the Directive over the finish line. Reward Value hereby reiterates its support for the final compromise text and calls on the delegates in the Council to show political leadership in demonstrating their commitment to responsible business.
