That robotics is a trending topic among food producers is quite clear... Sebastiaan Schreijen and Niels Snoep from Rabobank have discussed this with 22 medium-sized food manufacturers. They all indicated that they are involved with robotics in some way; some are still in the thinking phase, while others are already considering upgrading or replacing their current robots. Robotics seems to be the solution for many challenges within the food industry, but it doesn’t come without its own set of challenges. Presentation of the regio Zwolle Innovation Award 2024 Niels van Stijn from Axxor Group invited Bram de Vrught from QING for a co-presentation during the final of the innovation competition organized by Kennispoort Regio Zwolle two weeks ago. The annual innovation competition focuses on the innovation strength in the Zwolle region. The competition provides a platform for companies to present their innovative solutions. This year, CodeGlass won the Innovation Award with their software solution to make the work of developers easier, faster, and more enjoyable. During the presentation, Bram and Niels discussed the success factors in the innovation projects between Axxor and QING. Innovation is not just about technology; it is also about truly understanding the challenge and even each other’s domain. To create this mutual understanding, we invested a lot of time in exchanging knowledge and expertise about both the product and process domain as well as the technology domain. This is one of the success factors of our collaboration, which even resulted in mutual decision-making during the project. We really enjoyed sharing our experience and collaboration. Great recap of last week when the Towards Halving Food Waste conference took place 🍽️ On June 18 and 19, 350 participants from 33 countries gathered for the conference organized by the Stichting Samen Tegen Voedselverspilling. During the conference, Next Tech Food Factories hosted one of the breakout sessions, with QING contributing to it. During this session, discussions focused on how smart technology on the factory floor can help reduce food waste. 🥳 Vorige week kreeg Tjerk Van Zagten fantastisch nieuws: hij heeft zijn afstudeeronderzoek afgerond met een 8! Zijn HBO diploma Werktuigbouwkunde aan de HAN University of Applied Sciences is in the pocket 🎓 Tjerk deelt graag waar hij de afgelopen tijd mee bezig is geweest: “Voor QING mocht ik aan de slag met het bedenken van een systeem waarbij zoveel mogelijk voedselproducten op kwaliteit worden geanalyseerd en afgekeurde producten uit het systeem worden gehaald. Dit basisontwerp zorgt ervoor dat afgekeurde voedselproducten op de juiste wijze uit het systeem worden gehaald zonder andere producten te beschadigen. Met dit idee zorgt QING ervoor dat de nauwkeurigheid bij kwaliteitscontroles hoger is in vergelijking met handmatige controles. Daarnaast is gevraagd om een CTO-toepassing (Configure To Order) te realiseren. Hiermee kan je vanuit bestaande bouwstenen verschillende samenstellingen creëren op basis van de wensen van de klant, wat meerdere verwerkingsmogelijkheden biedt. In het begin van de afstudeerperiode kreeg ik een warm welkom en voelde ik me daardoor al snel op mijn gemak. Ik kon bij iedereen terecht voor vragen en opmerkingen zonder het gevoel te hebben dat er een scheiding is tussen stagiairs en werknemers.
