“I love Coaches Day and it’s a good way to connect with people” — Fearless Coach 🤩 Our Coaches Days help our coaching crew get ready for the season ahead. 17 Coaches joined our latest one (that’s at least 1 Coach from each program we’re running this season!), plus 4 other fabulous Project Fearless teammates. We talked about: 💡 Why our Coaches matter, and how to set the pace and team atmosphere on our programs 🎯 Our focus on accessible role models and play, not perfection 🌱 Creating environments where kids and Coaches feel welcome and valued, and where they can thrive and grow 🤗 The support crew our Coaches have at Project Fearless 📣 Our theme for this season, which runs across all our programs: shaping empathetic future leaders 💭 Adaptive coaching, and how we can make our sign-up process more inclusive of kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) Our HR teammate Nalan Akyurek joined us for the day, and it was great to have her perspective — we loved this feedback: “The age diversity!!! In our small group we had ages 14-45 and I really appreciated the experience of working and communicating with such a diverse team.” Our newest teammate Vanessa Guinadi came along, too — it was a great chance for her to hear more about our programs and meet the faces of PF on the ground: our Coaches 🙌 Welcome to the team, Vanessa! It’s International Equal Pay Day 💰 Today’s a reminder that, around the world, people don’t get equal pay for work of equal value — and the gender pay gap is part of that. To mark the day our way, we’re throwing it back to our collaboration with De Koffiejongens ☕ It started with highlighting the gender pay gap in the Netherlands, and evolved into supporting Fearless futures via our Entrepreneurship course. Sifan Hassan is a remarkable athlete 🇳🇱 At the Paris Olympics this year, she won bronze in the 5000m and 10000m events — and topped it off with a gold and a new Olympic record in the women’s marathon 🥇 Sifan is the first woman to win an Olympic gold in all 3 events (she won her 5000m and 10000m golds at the Tokyo Olympics, adding the marathon gold in Paris). What a record. Shifting things a notch or two… feel like getting your own running shoes on? Celebrating women who change the world 🌍 Qiyun Woo is an environmentalist and content creator from Singapore 🇸🇬 Check out The Weird and Wild, where she uses visuals to make climate topics easier to understand (and less overwhelming). She mixes her sustainability expertise, the wonder she finds in nature and her Southeast Asian perspective to share why taking care of our planet matters. And it’s important to her that her platform’s a safe, inclusive space where everyone feels welcome and respected. Qiyun also co-hosts the environmental podcast Climate Cheesecake and she’s a National Geographic Young Explorer.
