𝙑𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙪𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙯𝙪𝙢 𝙃𝙪𝙗 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙: 𝙁𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨 𝙀𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙡𝙜𝙨𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙞 𝙋𝙞𝙘𝙣𝙞𝙘 🚗 🚀  Hey, 👋 Mein Name ist Fabian und ich leite eines der ersten Hubs (Last Mile Verteilzentrum) in Moers. Meine Reise bei Picnic begann 2019, zur Eröffnung des Standortes in Moers. Neben meinem International Business Administration Studium hab ich mehrere Monate als Runner gearbeitet und für ein breites Lächeln bei vielen Kunden gesorgt! Wenige Monate nach meiner Anstellung durfte ich eine Position als Schichtleiter in unserem Hub antreten, und habe mich dann dazu entschlossen, den facettenreichen Job als Hub Lead zu beginnen. Als Hublead leite ich ein Team von 80 Runnern und 7 Schichtleitern. Um mein Team stetig weiterzuentwickeln und Prozesse weiter zu optimieren, analysiere ich täglich die KPIs meines Standortes und leite daraus Handlungsbedarfe ab. Mein Alltag gestaltet sich sehr unterschiedlich: Themen wie Arbeitssicherheit, Mitarbeitergespräche oder Anpacken auf dem Floor bilden die Basis und sorgen für viel Abwechslung. Was ich am meisten an meiner Rolle als Hublead mag, ist die Möglichkeit aktiv Dinge in meinem Standort oder Picnic weit ändern zu können. From Thesis Intern to International Speaker - Meet Rick Ossendrijver! 👋 Hi! My name is Rick, and I am a Software Engineer in the Targeting team at Picnic. 👨💻 🚀 I started with a thesis internship at Picnic 3.5 years ago. After completing my thesis, I joined the Java Platform team, which is responsible for providing the core tooling and foundation for all Java services at Picnic, supporting a tech team of 300 engineers. During my time in the Java Platform team, I worked extensively with Error Prone, a static analysis tool for Java that can automatically improve your code. We developed numerous rules and automated complete migrations with this tool. After open-sourcing the project, I began speaking about it at conferences. I found a passion for sharing knowledge and aimed to do it more often. 🌍 🎤 In just two years, I became an international speaker, delivering over 25 talks and workshops in many different countries. Picnic heavily supported me on this trajectory, providing many opportunities and offering expert-led courses to ensure I received the help I needed. 📚 💡 Half a year ago, I transitioned to the Targeting team. Here I've been working on a new project where we could use all the latest tooling and do continuous deployments. I love Picnic's focus on automation and improving code quality. Additionally, Picnic's strong engineering culture and tech-focused environment make it an incredible place to work at. 🌞Time for ice cream! 🍧 The weather is warming up, kids are on holiday, and the Picnic app has just welcomed 2 new ice cream flavours - it's our favourite time of the year! This is all thanks to our category managers, who ensure the best products are added to the assortment on time. Tatiana Iavtushenko gives us a little overview of our ice creams' journey so far: 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏: 𝐖𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩 📱 Customers flag missing products in the app - we need new ice cream flavours! 📊 Category managers conduct a range analysis to understand which flavours our customers need 💡 They collect inspiration from suppliers and collaborators in different markets 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟐: 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭? 🧺 Category managers assess the impact for customers to determine which products would be most relevant in store ☀️ They have to keep in mind seasonality - summer is coming (hopefully)! 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟑: 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 😋 It's time for tasting! For each product, the team tastes ~7 samples. Tatiana's daughters are very jealous of this part of their mom's job 🛣️ They then enter negotiations with suppliers, either for existing brands, or to create a new Picnic product from scratch, like our delicious ice creams 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟒: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐡 🚚 Frozen is a category that comes with its own set of logistical challenges. Tatiana has to work closely with her supply chain colleagues to ensure we can order the right amount of ice creams for our customers ✅ Once the logistics are on track, the products get added to the app You can now order the new Picnic ice creams and try them for yourselves! My name is Merel, a Supply Chain Recruiter in the International Talent Acquisition team at Picnic. 👩💻 📞 My journey with Picnic began almost 8 years ago as a Runner at our very first Hub in Amersfoort. After 2 years of making our customers happy with their grocery deliveries, I stepped into the role of Area Promotion Manager, where I was responsible for organizing exciting events. We even had a bouncy castle at one of our food festivals! 🤩 In 2020 I joined the Junior Recruitment team where I hired our newest Shoppers and Runners in the Netherlands. After a year I made the move to my current position as a recruiter with a focus on Supply Chain & People positions. 🚚 What I appreciate most about my role is the diversity and the opportunity to work with a wide range of people. Talent Acquisition at Picnic is not just about finding and hiring new talent. It’s also about building relationships, strategically improving processes, and leveraging creativity to work on projects like our Fast Track to Leadership programs. By undertaking the Fast Track to Leadership project, I've provided fresh graduates with the opportunity to dive into the logistics world of Picnic.
