Our colleague Sarah Yates attended the 5th Project Meeting for our QuantiFarm Project in Lisbon, where consortium members gathered to share updates and progress. Sarah and Tomas Fiege Vos de Wael are leading the Governance Mechanism of the Assessment Framework, which is led by Polimi (Osservatori Digital Innovation, Filippo Renga, Chiara Corbo, Sandra Cesari de Maria, Andrea Bianchi and Francesco Parigi). Smart Farming Technology Group - Agricultural University of Athens with George Papadopoulos play an integral role in this work package, focusing on the design of the cost and benefit calculators. The last decade has seen a surge in interest and investment in digital technologies for agriculture and food production, commonly known as "precision agriculture," "smart farming," and "digital agriculture." However, despite the many predicted benefits of Digital Agricultural Technologies and Solutions (DATSs) in agriculture, their actual uptake by EU farmers has been slow due to various challenges, including lack of knowledge, insufficient data on costs and benefits, and social factors like cultural attitudes. The QuantiFarm project aims to address these challenges by providing independent quantitative and qualitative assessments of DATSs. The project involves 30 QuantiFarm Test Cases including different types of farms across 20 countries in 10 biogeographical regions, using DATSs under various conditions and business models. Our goal is to make these assessments replicable, comparable, and practically useful for farmers, advisors, and policymakers. This is crucial for facilitating the uptake of DATSs and designing effective policy measures. Are you interested in learning more about this topic, please connect with our colleague Sarah! We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration! #SmartFarming #DigitalAgriculture #PetersonProjectsAndSolutions #FarmingForFuture #QuantiFarm #Sustainability #AgricultureInnovation

Reflecting on the impactful discussions my colleague Nicole Whittingslow and I had at the IDH Living Wage & Living Income Summit 2024! 🌍 ‼️One powerful takeaway: Paying workers a living wage and ensuring living income for farmers is not just a step towards economic justice but a catalyst for achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. By bridging these gaps, we create a ripple effect of positive change across communities and industries. At the summit, it was evident that collaboration is key. Bringing together industry leaders to discuss and act upon these issues is vital for progress. The focus was clear: GETTING STARTED on this journey and fostering open communication about our efforts. At Peterson Projects and Solutions (Europe), we're committed to driving impact. We've already supported numerous organizations in collecting and analyzing living wage data, devising actionable strategies to closing LW&LI gap. Join us in making a difference. If your organization is ready to embark on this journey towards equity and sustainability, let's start a conversation. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future. #SustainableDevelopment #LivingWage #LivingIncome #SDGs #CommunityImpact #CorporateResponsibility #Collaboration

Today, our colleagues in Rotterdam completed a comprehensive CPR training course. Understanding CPR is not just about acquiring a skill—it’s about being prepared to save lives and respond effectively in emergencies. It might seem like an obvious tip, but always first check if the person is breathing. If they are not, immediate CPR can significantly increase the chances of survival in cardiac arrest situations, potentially doubling or even tripling a person’s chance of recovery. By equipping our team with this knowledge, we are fostering a safer workplace and empowering our employees with the confidence to act decisively in critical moments. A great suggestion we received is to become part of a group chat or network where you can be alerted if someone nearby needs help. This way, we can extend our readiness to respond beyond the workplace and into our communities. We encourage everyone to follow a CPR course and see what you can do to make a difference in emergency situations. A heartfelt thank you to Robert Vreugdenhil for delivering an exceptional training experience today. Also, thank you Arno Mahlmann for organizing the training and to all the colleagues contributing to this. Your dedication is greatly appreciated. #CPRTraining #CommunityImpact #WorkplaceSafety #EmployeeWellbeing Nicole Whittingslow, Christian Diaz, Manuel Teijeiro, Erjona Mustafaraj, Jeffrey Verbaan, Patrik Dalmiras, Gianni Selmani & Noortje Slagter
