We do this in long-term cooperation with local partners and the Dutch water sector and encourage knowledge sharing, innovations and an integrated approach. This is how we contribute to improving water safety and water security for people, plants and animals. Partners for Water is executed by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) on behalf of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality.

Securing water sources through Roadside Spring Protection in Nepal 🏔️ We followed up with the RoSPro project, a groundbreaking initiative to protect water sources in Nepal's mountains. By integrating road development with advanced water management, RoSPro safeguards vital springs and improves road infrastructure for better year-round access. Funded by Partners for Water, this collaborative effort includes FutureWater, MetaMeta, ICIMOD, DOLI, and local communities. Together, they are using innovative methods and digital tools to address water scarcity and promote climate resilience. Indian Water Delegation Visits the Netherlands 🇮🇳🇳🇱 This week, we warmly welcomed an Indian water delegation to the Netherlands as part of the Strategic Partnership on Water between India and the Netherlands, implemented under the Partners for Water Programme. ✨ Highlights of the past week: • Visiting innovative Dutch water works, Nature-based Solutions and various organisations within the Dutch water sector. • Networking events with the Dutch water sector • Strengthening long-lasting water relationships between both countries. The delegation comprised government officials from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR, Govt. of India , Central Public Works Department Government of India, the Government of West Bengal and the Government of Kerala. 🌍 Exciting updates from the Welang Watershed, Indonesia! 🌊 In a collaborative effort, the Government of Indonesia, East Java Province, and the Government of the Netherlands are making significant progress in water management. This project, launched in 2020, is now in its second phase, tackling key water challenges through a co-creation process with local communities and experts. Some key achievements: ✅ 140 gully plugs installed in Wonosari, reducing runoff and soil erosion. ✅ Community engagement in Surorowo led to swift administrative processes and 18 new gully plugs. ✅ Innovative waste management workshops in Sidogiri and Welang Lama to combat urban flooding. ✅ Collaboration with local universities for data collection and sustainable solutions. The multi-stakeholder approach ensures practical, replicable solutions that leverage local resources. This initiative aligns with other regional projects to enhance capacity building and local ownership.
